069. BREAK UPS

Chapter sixty nine
"Break ups."

 Caroline knew what needed to be done now, that she couldn't keep it a secret anymore, which is why as she stood at her locker with Blaine, the two had come up with a pact that they both would tell Kurt and Sam what they had done, which is why Blaine had took a flight to New York while Caroline had asked Sam to meet her in the auditorium that night, which was why she was up there sitting in the dark waiting for him to arrive, as Sam walked on the stage "hey, you know I kind of thought it was weird that you wanted to meet her so late but then when I came here, I actually found it kind of cool." he shared, laughing.

Although as he did, he expected Caroline to laugh with him but she didn't "okay, now you're scaring me." Sam told her, as Caroline turned her legs from hanging off the stage and standing up "um.." she told him, turning her hands down her skirt "I usually feel comfortable on the stage, but right now I..I kind of feel like I'm in some twisted version of Romeo and Juliet where instead of Juliet drinking the poison she stabs Romeo." she shared, causing Sam to furrow his brows "I'm sorry, I don't know what your talking about." he told her.

And when he did, that's when it came out of her, like word vomit "I cheated on you!" she voiced and when she did, Sam's eyes went wide "wh..what? With..with who? Wh..when?" he asked her, furrowing his brows "the night of nationals, I..I had been feeling a lot of emotions that day.." Caroline began, as Sam shook his head, realizing what she was saying "whoa, whoa, so when you said you and Jesse were just being competitive that's not what happened?" he asked her "it..it was..it was but it also wasn't! I was nervous about performing and you know he always had the way of making my nerves go away! And then he was also scared and I helped him get over it! But in that moment nothing happened!" Caroline voiced.

"So, something did happen?" Sam asked, but then scoffed "who am I kidding, of course it did because you told me you cheated on me! No wonder all everyone can talk about was you and Jesse, god! I can't believe I believed when you said the two of you just talked!" he voiced, running his hands through his hair "we did! Until after we won nationals! I went to thank him on helping me win because I wouldn't be where I was or who I am right now without him and he apologized for everything he did to me. And then he kissed me, and I kissed him back because it was mean to be a goodbye." Caroline shared.

But when she did, Sam stared at her "but it wasn't, was it?" he asked her, stepping toward's her "Sam, please.." Caroline told him her voice breaking "no, you don't get to be upset with me Caroline! You cheated on me with him! What else did you do with him, huh?" Sam asked her "I slept with him, okay! And then..then that was supposed to be it. But then everyone was leaving and Finn..Finn told me he was going into the army on this very stage and I couldn't handle it! So that night I went to his apartment and have been doing that all summer." Caroline shared, as Sam shook his head, he didn't even know what else to say as he turned around walking away, leaving Caroline standing there in the dark, crying, which seemed to be her life now.

The next day, Caroline was struggling to even go to glee club the next day, which is how she ended up showing up late, but when she did, she stopped in the doorway, and her eyes went wide when she saw her brother Finn standing there alive and in the flesh, which made her want to cry again, as Finn stood up "hey." he told her, as they all turned their head's watching the two, but Caroline still didn't move from her spot, in which Finn walked toward's her, and when he did, Caroline started crying "whoa, hey, hey." Finn said, pulling her into a hug and when she hugged him, she only started to cry harder as everything that had been bugging her since the end of last year came crashing down on her in the span of two days.

Where that night, Finn sat in her room with her, as Caroline shook her head, telling him how she cheated on Sam by sleeping with Jesse all the way back at nationals and how when he left her, the only person she truly had was Jesse because their own mother was worrying about how he was gonna do in the army as well, and how keeping the two of those things inside of her all summer and then throughout the first weeks of the school year had been eating her alive until this week where not only a day before he showed up did she tell Sam what she had done.

In which Finn told her how he went to surprise Rachel in New York before showing up here and when he did, not only did he find her but her with a new guy, but instead of crying and letting her hold him, he knew fully well that right now after the way he left things, his sister needed him, so he pulled her into a hug and held her all night as she cried, although her crying made him start to cry.

In which the next day, Caroline had went to find her brother, but as she did, she found him standing in the auditorium singing, which made her realize how this stage seemed to be a special place for more people then just her.

"Come up to meet you

Blaine then walked in from the other side of the stage as he sang.

"Tell me your secrets

Heads on the science apart."

And unknowing to Caroline, Santana had walked up behind her as she sang.

"Nobody said it was easy."

Her and Caroline then walked onto the stage as Finn and Blaine sang.

"It's such a shame for us to part."

Caroline then sang.

"Nobody said it was easy."

Blaine and Finn then sang.

"No one ever said it would be this hard
Oh, take me back to the start."

Caroline then closed her eyes and when she did, she could imagine Kurt up there, standing right next to Blaine as he sang.

"I was just guessing
At numbers and figures
Pulling the puzzles apart."

Then Britney was standing next to Santana as she sang.

"Questions of science
Science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart."

Mr Schuester and Miss Pillsbury were then there as well as the two of them sang.

Oh, when I rush to the start."

Then Rachel and Sam were standing up there near Caroline and Finn as the two sang.

Caroline then sang lead while the others sang backup.

They all then sang.

"Nobody said it was easy."

And when it was over Caroline and Finn were the only one's standing on the stage.
