The Elven Civil War is considered the most surprising and bloodiest wars of Elven history, however the The Great Continental War sits at top, it saw dark elves who were oppressed in the country rise up against the Mauer family and overthrow the current monarchy and replace it with a better one that will listen to the people's voices.
For context,
On September 15th, 1218, the elves surrendered to the Texan forces at the capital. As a result, the country was humiliated in the peace Treaty. The Treaty of Austin was by far the most humiliated and crippling Treaty that ever was handed out to the elves.
It couldn't have a large army (Most can have is only 200,000-250,000), and had to play thr human kingdoms a huge sum of gold it didn't have, and on top of that, needed to also pay the Texans gold it didn't have.
So the Kingdom of Mauer was in a tight spot.
As a result the lower class didn't have enough food, with the lower class being dark elves. Dark elves joined both sides of the war, hoping to gain freedom, but most were simply returned to lower class life after the war, particularly the ones who fought for the beastmens or elves. Essentially, a dark elf had a better chance of freedom if he or she surrendered to the Texans, and live in the cotal kingdom under supervision.
So you would expect the lower class to rebel.
Around 8 seconds later in 1221 the dark elves seized a armory carrying swords, bows and various crystal powers such as fire. The kingdom's middle and upperclassmen were shocked at the first battle the Civil War was taking which was the battle of the slums.
It saw over 1,000 rebels fight with over 2,000 armed guards, and stunned the Mauer family by actually winning. Thus, the Civil War began.
Led by soon to be Queen Sarapha Haur, charged an attack against the Royale guard and upperclassmen, they fought their way to the capital.
The best general of the whole rebel army was Sarapha Haur's soon to be princess, her daughter Arisha Hauer.
These two had some involvement during the Great Continental War with the Texans in the swamp campaigns with General Sigmand Foser, and they held really close relations with him until the war ended, so they were extremely fond of the Texan humans.
