Texas is transported to a new world, but what became of the state?

In 1250 on March 2nd was the unprovoked attack on the north Texas Island by the Orion navy fleet of 10 ships, it saw over 300 civilians die as it damaged Coastal cities that were trade hubs.
As a result the Orion army landed the ships with over 500 armored knights amd started to take over the north Texan island city of Lincoln.
The Texas public and government were understandably pissed about the whole ordeal, as a response they sent a small marine division to take back the city, keep in mind the defining term of a small division was over 1300 marines vs around 500 knights. The Texans entered the city ready to reclaim it but were halted by the fact that the knights were actually enhanced Demons.

The knights wore bone-iron armor and was really effective for tanking 9mm and .45 acp pistols or smgs, it was until the Texans decided that it would be better to start issuing 5.56 nato Rifles and just issued M16a1s with cleaning kits and the bone armor can still tank it but for around for a few seconds until it finally broke.
It took the marines 2 days of door to door fights with 32 casualties while the Orion army sustained around 300. The final fight of city Lincoln was the marines seeing the Orion knights evacuated the beach and heading back to base in the Orion empire.
When Queen Nilama Orion heard of the news, she was absolutely furious that the Texans turned their back on the empire and it's resistance. She ordered her generals to launch a Surprise invasion on the Texan panhandle and take the cities and towns to get a vantage point.
In 1250 of July 4th, 15 troop ships from the Orion empire carrying 750 Enhanced demon knights attacked a Coastal town which contained over 2000 people within, and when the Orion army came, there was a national guard base of 50 men who were signaled a force invasion was coming 4 miles east, and in which Swat and national guard units were ready for the attack armed with Mosberg Model 680 shotguns, M1911 pistols, AR15s and also civilians in a milita, it would count for over 150 Texan units vs 750 Orion knights.
The joint Texan force managed to hold off the invaders for an impressive amount of time, which resulted in 15 casualties on the Orion side the first 5 minutes. The Texans of the city were holding out for a convoy of 200 armymen to arrive, but were 50 miles away and would need 2 hours to get there.
The Texan city managed to hold off for an hour before the Orion army overpowered them in numbers, then the city was now under Orion control, but resulted in 310 deaths on the Orion empire side. So it sort of felt like a defeat.
When the army arrived, they ordered a full run of the city from tanks and they destroyed groups of the Orion army in smithereens. As a result, in just 20 minutes, the city was recaptured into Texan hands.
