BEYOND WORDS
Chapter twenty eight.
Alhaji Suleiman came back from the police station he went earlier furious.
Hajiya sadiya immediately came to him and welcomed him, but seeing the way he came back made her asked whether the boy has died but he said no, instead he said
"I want to see umar right now, tell him to meet me in my room"
He said before leaving to his room.
Umar who was on his way to sumayyah's heard his phone ringing, seeing that it was his habibty, he parked the car by the road side and called back as the call has already cut.
"Assalamu alaikum habibty"
"Wa alaikumul salaam, have you gone far?"
She asked.
"No, not that far.Is everything alright?"
He asked.
"Yes but your father wants to see you, he came back from the police station i told you he went to earlier, and he look very angry I don't know what happened"
She mentioned.
"Angry? Okay I'm coming back right now"
He said and hung the call.
He made a u-turn and headed back home praying its not about his marriage and safy.
Upon reaching home, he met nobody in the living room so he went straight to his father's part where he met both his parent waiting for him.
He uttered the salaam and sat down on a sofa near his mother.
"Abba you want to see me"
He said waiting to hear what his father had in mind this time around.
"Its about your marriage with safiyyah"
His father said. Not that he wasn't expecting something like that, every time his father summoned for him then its about his marriage with that less mannered person.
He raised his head to talk but his mother held his hand and signalled him not to.
But then what they heard next from him made of all them looked at him with a confused eyes.
"Its canceled, it won't happen"
"Alhaji you mean umar's marriage with safiyyah is cancel?"
Hajiya sadiya asked with both a happy and confused look.
"Yes in sha Allah, it won't happen and what I want from you now umar is;you should tell the girl you like that we will be coming for formal introduction so she should tell her parents so that they will fix a date for us"
He said again.
Umar was surprised but the happiness was over whelming, he wanted to drown in it.
Hajiya sadiya who was speechless due to happiness didn't even bother to ask him why he canceled the marriage. It was umar that asked Because he wanted to know what happened.
"But Abba why the sudden change of mind? Is she the one that said she wants the marriage canceled?"
Umar asked him.
"Actually no, zakari was involved in an accident and he tried to run away but fortunately he got caught so the officer called me, I went there and met another case which was very bad to my sight, safiyyah was there too with the charges of theft, a man reported her that she stole his bag which contained millions of money after sleeping with him, subhanallah! She can't be my son's wife"
"Innalillahi wainna ilaihir rajiun!! Alhaji this is what I have been trying to make you understand since from the beginning . That girl is up to no good and she doesn't deserve our son but you were blinded by the friendship between you and her father"
Hajiya sadiya said.
Umar wasn't surprised because he knew she could do worse than that.He knew it was bad of him to think that it was a very good thing that zakari ran unto a boy if not alhaji wouldn't be in that police station and he wouldn't have known of this.
"I know hajiya but now alhamdulillah since I've seen thier true colors now"
"Umar you can go now and I'm sorry for trying to force you do what you don't want to, and thank you for obeying me"
His father said which was emotional to hajiya sadiya.
"Thank you Abba"
He said before happily leaving the house. He headed to where he was going to before this great message hit him.
He wanted to go and surprise her... He couldn't believe that sumayyah was going to be his wife without any plans lol.
With the consent of his father? He never thought.
