Chapter seventeen.
Wait what?what did she just hear? Did he just confessed his feelings for her to her?
Was it a dream? She immediately looked up and gave him a look she herself wasn't sure what it was.
"Let's talk in the car before we go in"
He said distracting her from the newly discovered world of hers.
He opened the passenger's seat for her as she entered, while he entered the driver's seat.
They spent another minutes sitting there with him staring at her as if he was just seeing her for the first time.
"How have you been?"
He finally decided to break the silence.
"I'm fine alhamdulillah, how about you? "
"Maybe I'll be fine since you're here now"
He replied which made her blushed hard.
She didn't reply instead she started fidgeting her fingers out of nervousness.
"Sumayyah look at me"
He said sitting properly to face her, she did the same but still looking down.
"First of all I'm sorry for not contacting you all this while, I'm sure you heard what I said the other day about marrying you, and since I didn't discussed it with you first before talking to mummy, I thought you'd need some time to process everything, that was why I neither called nor texted you"
He explained.
"Then why did you come today if you felt I needed some time? "
She asked.
"Because I couldn't help it anymore, I wanted to come and see you"
He said.
"Then you are selfish, you didn't even think of how I'll feel, you just thought of yourself only, so you came because you wanted to see me? But I have been wanting to see you since that day but there's nothing I could do, so I let missing you hurt me all passing day"
She said in one breath, emphasizing on the last line.
"Does that mean you missed me too?"
He asked.
"Yes I did, I missed you so much, I spent all nights and days waiting for your call but always got disappointed"
She blurted, she couldn't control her emotions so she said her mind.
He smirked knowing what she meant, I mean it was obvious she liked him too.
"I am very very sorry, and I would never do that again, I did that for a reason too"
He said his eyes still scanning her beautiful face.
"Sumayyah"
He called.
She didn't answer rather she looked at him and immediately looked away, and that attitude of hers, he liked it so much.
"Do you want to marry me?"
He asked which made her to breathe out aloud.
She neither answered nor looked at him, instead she smiled, she wouldn't risk loosing him, even though it wasn't long since they met but she felt a very strong bond between them.
He took that smile for an answer and smiled too.
"So now we are officially in a relationship? "
He asked again smiling wanting to force her to talk.
"Stop asking questions"
She said with a pout.
He continued looking at her to the point she started feeling uncomfortable.
"Let's go in right?"
She said so she would distract him from looking at her.
"Okay your highness"
He then turned the engine to life and horned as the gateman opened the gate for them....
Hajiya mansura was sitting on the couch in the parlor reading an article, she then picked her phone up to call sumayyah because she has stayed for long outside.
She was about to dail her number when she heard her saying the salaam.
She turned and was about to start scolding her for staying long outside when she clearly warned her not to before she left, but her eyes met Umar's, she was and wasn't surprised of seeing Umar unexpected.
She knew that if he really loved sumayyah then he'd definitely come looking for her and not not until she calls first.
And she was surprised because he came without a notice and wasn't expecting him at that moment.
He said the salaam too as sumayyah found a seat in the room.
"Why are you standing there? Come sit down "
Hajiya mansura offered.
He sat down while sumayyah went to the kitchen and brought him a juice before she left to Aisha's room.
"Aisha Umar is here"
Sumayyah said to Aisha. Aisha was busy folding her washed clothes when sumayyah barged in excited.
"Hey hey don't break my door, and which umar are you talking about? "
A confused Aisha asked.
"The umar you know, and guess what? "
"What"
Aisha said with curiosity.
"I won't sayyyyy until you pay"
Sumayyah said jokingly.....
Umar and hajiya mansura were sitting at the parlor the way sumayyah left them.
After he greeted her, he told her that something very important brought him today.
"What could it be Umar? "
She asked.
"So mummy the thing is...... "He narrated everything to her, he didn't hide anything from her about his father's motive.
"Its okay umar I understand, so you came here to cancel the proposal right? "
She asked in a worried way, she knew her daughter loved him too because she could see it from the way she reacts whenever at the mention of him.
"No mummy, that's not it, I love sumayyah and I want to marry her, I just want you to please bear with me with what'll happen "
"What will happen"
She repeated the words.
"Let me elaborate everything.... "
He explained everything to her which tensed her to the extreme core.
"What are you saying? You mean my daughter should go through all this embarrassment? And you, what will happen to you? Why will you go against your parents? No, I'm not in support of this nonsense. "
She yelled but in a mature and calm way.
Umar saw this coming that was why he agreed with his mother to come and convince her the following day because of course no mother would allow her daughter to go through this....
