Zane stood up as soon as he could, he couldn't let Garroth hurt Nana
"COME ON! FIGHT ME!"
Garroth just smirked, jumping down and landing only a few feet in front of Zane causing Zane to fall from the impact
Zane stood up, glaring at Garroth
"Garroth.. please.. I know you're still in there... please, fight back!"
Zane backs up, trying to avoid Garroth's blade
"Garroth! Please, remember me!"
Zane gasps as Garroth lands a slash across his chest
He hates to see Garroth like this, he knows how painful it is
Garroth knows what he is doing and can't do anything about it
"I'm Zane! I'M YOUR BROTHER! someone is controlling you! you aren't doing this yourself! PLEASE DON'T LET THEM WIN! "
Zane screams as he pushes onto his back, Garroth stabbing into his shoulder.
Zane feels tears well up in his eyes and looks up at Garroth, giving him the same broken look he always gave Garroth when he hurt Zane as they were kids
"It's over"
Garroth's words fill Zane's ears and his tears start to flow
"Garroth... please... remember me..."
Zane pulled down his mask as he watched Garroth lift his sword up
"I love you.. big brother..."
Those are the last words to ever come out of Zane's mouthGarroth is only broken out of his trance when his sword goes through Zane's heart, killing him instantly
He remembers holding Zane as a baby, watching Zane take his first steps, he remembers Zane's first-word being 'Garroth', he remembers high school, all of it.
He remembers everything
"Baby brother!"
Garroth shouts as he pulls the sword out of Zane's chest, blood splattering all over him
Garroth screams in pure agony as he pulls Zane's limp body to his chest in a hug only an older brother could give
"Zane, please... I'm sorry"
Tears stream down Garroth's face and onto the back of Zane's bloody mess of hair
"I love you, Zane"
