Recap:

“I can’t get all the way there without you.” I said like it was the most obvious thing in the world…which it was.

“How long have you wanted to say that?” He asked slyly when he walked passed, snatching the vial from my hand.

“Will you stop that relentless tapping!” Malfoy growled at me.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I said ‘clueless’ and started tapping my foot a little harder. The wooden heel on my show made a loud clatter against the tile floor.

No one else seemed to notice or mind but him. No one else was done yet and waiting for the class to be over with yet.

Except Hermione and her partner obviously; they managed to finish a bit before Malfoy and I…I wonder why.

“I don’t know why I even waste my breath on an ignorant Gryffindor anyway.” He commented to himself, even though it was obviously just loud enough for me to hear, turning in his chair the other way with a wave of his robe.

Like that was going to make him disappear in a cloud of smoke. Psh. I wish.

Although it was still enough to make me stop for a little bit.

He did not just call me ignorant! The only person that ever got away with that was Professor Snape, and well…I don’t think bitch slapping a teacher would look as well on the school records as bitch slapping Malfoy was.

“Bout damn time!” He muttered, sitting up a bit straighter in his seat.

I was ready to reach over and get him right there, but then I felt a sudden movement.

I grabbed onto the sides of my chair and looked down at the legs.

I could have sworn I felt it budge, even screech for a second when the legs must have scraped against the tile, but there was nothing there.

I looked back over at Malfoy suspiciously but he just sat there fixing his robes bored-like, waiting for the bell to ring like I was.

Wait…am I closer to him now? I wondered, examining the space between our chairs.

I shook my head, convinced I was imagining things; but still scooted my chair a few more inches to the left anyway.

“You’re dismissed.” Professor Snape finally announced 5 long, agonizing minutes after the last group handed him their vile.

“Thank god.” I sighed and immediately hopped out of my seat.

I could have sworn I was going to die of boredom in that seat.

I walked up beside Hermione first since she was closest and headed over to Harry and Ron with her.

“Do I even need to ask how yours went?” I asked her with a knowing smile.

“Well, if you must know, it was didn’t go too well.” She said, looking a little glum.

“Why? What happened?” I asked.

“During the 3rd step Seamus nearly stirred it a 6th time. What if I hadn’t been watching him?” She said.

“You’re upset for something that nearly happened? Hermione, just be proud of the fact that he’s probably thanking his stars he got a partner like you to keep from exploding the classroom.” I said with a chuckle, hoping it might cheer her up.
