Recap:

“Project Makeover has already commenced.” She giggled at me when I finally came to a stop.

I raised a finger to ‘hold on’ for a moment. Recently I had quite the lack of energy and had easily gotten a stitch in my side.

“I think it’s obvious that before we can even start you’re going to have to fix a few things.” She started for me as I finished catching my breath. “And the first starts with lunch.”

“Hermione…I’m beginning to think that, even though the words come out of your mouth, you’re actually trying to keep me away from Harry.” I eyed her skeptically.

“Now Lynli, I will admit I’m not much on makeovers but I think it’ll be best if you wait until after coming back from Winter Break to show Harry or even try to talk to him.” She had just told me…we hadn’t even done a makeover yet.

“Why would you think I’d try to do such a thing?” Hermione gasped-almost a little too dramatically for me.

“1:You’re Harry’s best friend and 2: you’re telling me to wait 2 monthsto even get close to said friend…I guess I can give you props. You just want the easiest way to keep me from your nerves since we do share a dorm as well as to be good to your friend.” I pointed out with a fake wave like it meant nothing to me.

“Well…” She got fidgety for a second but quickly threw it to the side and looked back with a new determination. ”…just think of it this way. You may be on rocky terms right now, but once winter break starts Harry will be here to himself with his thoughts…for a month. And after a month of being able to finally think things through rationally you will come back in the picture. And the new makeover will just magnify it tenfold!” She tried to pep me up.

It sounded logical but I still new the real intention. I’d take it for now though. I was depressed over Harry and though it still tears at my insides and toys with my heart I had to admit I was growing tired of waking up to the pale droopy face I saw in the mirror every morning.

It’d take an effort but I think I could fix it…I think…

“But like I said, you need to wait until after Winter Break.” She stressed.

“Hermione, I know. Stay away from Harry.” I mimed like those were the words she had said.

“Oh, Lynli. Please don’t think of me like that.”

“Like what?” I wondered seemingly obviously why should say that.

“Badly of me for putting you through this…”

“Putting me through this? You’re the only one who’s trying to give me some kind of help through this-even if it started with other intentions.” I said feeling a little dumb that someone had to try and help me…but when it’s bad it’s bad, and you just lose yourself. It’s a little hard to realize how far you’ve gone when you’re gone and don’t care.

“Ok…” She watched me hesitantly, not sure if this was some trick, “…just make sure you don’t confront Harry though. I don’t think it’d be wise, he needs time.”

“Yeah, I got you from the beginning remember?” I couldn’t help but humph grumpily. It was this current state I’m in, it just did this to me. “But…thank you for the concern.” I added, my voice sounding a bit meek.

“Now eat!” Hermione urged, shoving a big bowl of pumpkin spice porridge in my face.

I eyed the bowl warily, my stomach churning. It cried ‘throw me away!’ but Hermione cried ‘get on with it!’-but her voice packed quite the elbow in the side so I went with the other.
