For Jenna, breakfast has always been a quick toast and butter with a cup of coffee. Since her gallery opens early in the morning, the duty to make it ready for the general public with additional pending tasks like due presentations she doesn't usually get time to make a meal for herself.

On days when time isn't a hindrance, she would add either an egg or a bacon to her plate but never did she imagine seeing a whole buffet table for breakfast. And all of these are cooked by him.

Jenna shuts her gaping mouth and licks the saliva from the corner of her mouth as she sees the picture in front. The smell of honey and pancakes that came an hour before in her room actually has a source and it's right in front of her.

So many options. So many fancy-looking meals.

"Did you really cook all of this?" she asks, surprised to see the number of plates on the table.

He prods his head telling her to take a seat, "I like to cook in free time. This is just a handful of what I can make. Eat whatever you like,"

"But this is too much for two people," Jenna takes a seat.

"We can always eat the leftovers," he said meeting her eyes.

She averts her gaze and picks a plate from the middle of the table. There are so many options to eat that she doesn't know what to pick. He has made quite a menu for her. There is a plate of honey-soaked pancakes right next to a bowl of colorful cut-up fruits. Surrounding them are yogurt bowls garnished with shredded nuts and flaxseeds, crispy brown bacon in the middle, some avocado and egg-wrapped sandwiches, and a jug of orange juice with pulp. Christ, this is a month's breakfast.

Seeing her trouble at picking dishes David takes her plate from her. "I'll just make you one,"

He elegantly adds three layered pancakes with a honey drizzle, a spoonful of fruits in a small bowl, some pieces of bacon, and a glass of juice. He slides the plate to her before making one for himself.

"Wow, this is a lot to eat," Jenna said,

"I hope your reaction stays the same after you taste it,"

"Judging by the smell coming from them, I can say they taste good,"

"Not believing a word until you actually eat it,"

She didn't need to be told twice. She was hungry. The rats have turned and become one giant hungry mouse called Mulk like Hulk but is brown and ridiculously weak in the presence of good food. She can feel the rats melt against the smell.

Jenna dug her fork into the pancakes and took a bite.

Oh, sweet lord. Don't moan. Do not Moan. She cursed when the first bite of pancakes reminded her why she had a tongue and what its sole purpose was. So soft and melting. She couldn't help but take another bite.

"Sweet Jesus, this is good." She said out loud earning a chuckle from David.

"Yeah?"

"Are you sure you're a lawyer? Because I tell you, if you decide to open a restaurant it'll be a huge hit and I'll be that shameless regular who doesn't know where the door is."

David takes a sip of his juice and starts to cut his bacon, "I am glad you liked it,"

Like wasn't the right word to do justice to his food. Jenna loved it and whenever she loves something she hums. Absent-mindedly, she starts humming a tune in front of David while eating the breakfast he made for her.

From across the table, two sets of eyes set on her. Looking at her melodious self, the soft movement of her head whenever she takes a bite of his cooked food, the rocking of her body in the chair, the light breeze moving her hair away from her shoulders giving just a glimpse of her exposed shoulder to David. He notices everything as he drinks the juice.
