Three months later.
"There's a package for you, Jenna," shouts David from the foyer.
"Coming,"
A few seconds later she came down flaunting that smile of a woman who is happy with her life. After that night, everything changed. Vomiting all your secrets and truths and reasons made it better to live without guilt and external barriers. They attempted to go back to the way they were but it was hard knowing every one of them had hurt the other so they decided it was better to forgive and forget.
It's been a month since they started being real. Jenna and Del have gone back to fixing their relationship. It took some time to be frank with each and with Del going through a breakup phase, it was harder to communicate but they tried and it counts. Del's apartment has been renovated and she moved back a few weeks ago. Both David and Jenna helped with the moving process.
Jenna visits her a couple of times during the week or spends late nights on weekends. None of them bring her relationship with David because he is still an odd subject and it's not like Del wants to hear how good her father is in bed.
As for Jenna and David, they have been living with each other after that night of break-in. David didn't let her go back to her place. He didn't believe her safety in that place. Jenna didn't argue because she didn't want to remember that night. The more she stays away from that apartment the better it would be for her mental health.
Jerry has been sentenced again for a lot longer this time. The lawyers David assigned to work her case have been brutal with allegations against Jerry. With the witnesses, Jerry knew he was done. He didn't even try to fight his case, just confessed after a team of lawyers visited him.
Jenna had her doubts that it was David who threatened him to not fight back. She didn't try to find out nor did they have any discussions regarding it. The day verdict they simply celebrate with a bottle of champagne and sex on the pool.
Currently, Jenna is attending a video conference with one of Richard's artist friends who wants to hold an exhibition at her gallery. The call ended right when David called for her.
She went to the living room where he had taken the parcel and was now waiting patiently like a kid who was wondering if there were chocolates inside.
"Oh wow. That is one big parcel," She said rounding the couch. "Who sent it?"
"Probably your parents. It has a southern address,"
Jenna ripped the tapes from the box and opened the parcel. "It's strawberries,"
David got up from the couch and peeked inside the box. "Finally,"
"Dad went out with it. He didn't have to spend so much,"
"Doesn't matter we can finish them,"
"We can't finish all these strawberries by ourselves, David. We would have to give it to people,"
"Or not," he says looking at her, "We can finish it in our style,"
Jenna glanced at him, "No,"
David nodded with a wicked smirk. "Yes,"
She left the box sitting on the coffee table and turned to him. Pushing him to the couch, Jenna sat on his lap and wrapped her arms around him. "You're really happy ever since my mom and dad found out about us, aren't you?"
"They did send us strawberries,"
A few weeks ago Jenna decided to tell her parents about her relationship with David. Much to her surprise they already knew because they caught them in the hallway being inappropriate. They had a long discussion about it, mentioning the things that they had already dealt with it.
Jenna reassured them that everything was fine. She even told them what Delilah did and how they're getting along now. Long story short, it took time but they got on board with their relationship only because they liked David and felt he was a good man for their daughter. Still, to make sure they approved of their relationship, Jenna's dad promised to send them some strawberries. It was a way to lock the deal.
"Yeah, the strawberries that you want to eat from my nipple,"
"What can I say? I have a sweet tooth,"
Jenna shook her head before she kissed him. David leaned forward with her, grabbed a handful of strawberries from the box, and just like that they were occupied for the entire evening.
