It was five in the morning when Jenna and Delilah returned home. Their lake fun had exhausted them to the bone. They never felt so alive and tired at the same time. What they thought would be a few hours of roasting marshmallows and talking turned out to be a whole night of killing mosquitoes.

How can they forget the mosquito repeller? This was a nursery-level mistake. Everyone who spends their night by the lake knows how much bugs and insects swarm the area. The entire woods are filled with them.

Now, as they make their way to the farmhouse, the only thing on their head is having a good sleep which is why they didn't stop in the living room to greet the unknown guest.

"Girls," Juan Salore calls from the couch stopping them below the flight of stairs. "Look who's here. Delilah come honey,"

Delilah frowns and looks at Jenna. "Isn't he supposed to call you?"

"Maybe it's someone you know," she answered and turned to the living room with Del only to fall short on her steps as she saw who the guest was.

Del was as shocked as her but not enough to make her way to him. "Dad? What are you doing here?"

David looked up from his seat to his daughter. Even in the wake of early morning he looked fresh as hell. And so fucking handsome that Jenna was having a hard time to refrain herself from showing her emotions on her face. What is he doing here?

David stood up and wrapped an arm around his daughter taking her in for a hug but his eyes remained on Jenna. Sending sweet tremors inside her. Fuck. Is he here because she wasn't picking up his call? No. He is way too busy to focus on such trivial matters, right?

Right?

"My work was finished a few days early and I thought why don't I join you here? I hate being alone at home. Everything is too silent," he says.

Del chuckles, "But you like silence,"

"That I do but too much of anything doesn't feel good after a time,"

"That's true," she nods. "Anyways it's a good thing you're here. I can have more days here on the farm without thinking about you or how you're doing back at home,"

"I am not a child, Lila,"

"Exactly my words, Dad," she pats his chest and shifts on our feet. "Oh sorry, Juan I hope you don't mind my Dad staying here with us for a few days,"

"No honey it's fine. We were actually getting along quite well before you girls came."

David smiled crookedly and shook his hand with Juan. "We were. He told me about his ability to drink beer while milking a cow,"

"The secret is to not get caught by your wife," They laughed and Jenna continued staring at the exchange in confusion.

Taking a deep breath, she looked at her father on the side and wiggled her brows asking him what was happening. Juan simply shrugged his shoulder in response and walked up to her. "Why do you look like you saw a ghost?" He said loud enough to earn a satisfied look from David on the side.

Jenna's eyes widen and she pulls her father to the kitchen. "Lower your voice, Dad,"

"What? Why are you being weird?"

"I am not being weird. I am tired and possibly close to a heart attack," she rubs her chest and leans on the counter. "Why didn't you inform me? You usually tell me if there is a guest or not at the house,"

Her father spared her a glance before opening the fridge and taking a pack of unopened orange juice out. "I was trying not to interrupt your girl's trip. Besides David is someone you know. I only call you when the said guest is unknown like that young lass during your junior high,"
