The next day
I applied my lipstick, I had breakfast with Miranthe at 10.00. I made sure I had everything and when I left the bathroom. I accidentally bumped into Lando. 'Oh sorry!' I exclaimed.
He checked me out, and then he titled his head slightly. 'Why are you rushing?' He questioned me. 'I've breakfast with Miranthe at ten. And I only have ten minutes.' I said with a panicky tone.
'I can drive you. That may be much quicker than walking.' He said. I agreed but I didn't want Miranthe to see him. She's a materialistic girl, and she'd be spreading her legs for him within seconds not caring who would be in the cafe. But when I said I'd prefer waking Lando insisted.
We made our way to his customised McLaren. He opened the door for me. He closed it and also got in. He started the engine and he gently pressed the accelerator. The car growled and we drove off. I stared out of the window at the amount of parked cars passing by. When we arrived, I saw Miranthe sitting on the terrace with orange juice in her hands. She wore a classy French barette. She noticed the car and it drawn her attention immediately. Lando pulled the car over in front of the cafe. And Lando hopped out, he walked around the car to open my door. It flew up and I struggled to get out. When I stood straight I realised how close we were standing to each other. Lando looked sideways into Miranthe's direction. And he then looked back at me. 'Have fun.' He then said. He stepped away from me and closed the door. I made my way to the cafe and took my spot next to Miranthe. She greeted me and looked at the McLaren driving off. 'Didn't know you stayed with your old babysitter. Aren't you going to buy an apartment?' She sounded condescending. 'I cannot afford an apartment, especially in Monaco.' I replied.
She lifted a brow up. 'My dad cut my finances after our fight. I thought I had already told you.'
'You didn't.' She mumbled. She then checked my outfit. 'You look horrible.'
'I know, can we just eat?' I asked. She nodded and the waiter made his way towards us. I felt bad about myself after Miranthe kept talking about the new boat her father had bought for her.
My stomach twisted, as she made fun of my money. When we were finished I wanted to pay but she wanted to pay. And when she did she said: 'you'll have €37,50 to spare now.'
Without saying a word I stormed off, and made my way to the harbour. I put my hands into my pockets while Miranthe followed me. 'Aren't you going to say thank you?' She said as she pulled my hand, 'you've been harassing me for the last 2 hours.' I growled. 'Sorry, it's just my personality.' She mumbled. I tried to ignore her but I got surprised when Max Verstappen was running towards us. He was all sweaty and when he saw me he gave me a hug. 'My sweet Alice!' He took a deep breath as he seemed exhausted. He then looked at Miranthe and shook her hand to introduce himself. 'I heard you were coming with us to Silverstone next week.'
'Yeah, I am.'
'Lovely. Then I'd say, come and visit me in paddock so I we can have a longer chat.' He offered. 'I will.' I said.
Max nodded and he told us a goodbye.
'I didn't you personally know Max Verstappen.' She mumbled. I shrugged.
