-2015, October 17th-

I awoke to a mind shattering headache running through the entirety of my brain. It felt as if someone had stabbed a sword through my head and added extreme electricity to it.

The bright light that hung over me stung my eyes as I tried to look around, killing my vision. I was in my ship, maybe in my room. It was hard to tell from how bright the ceiling light was.

“Oh! You’re awake!”

Pendla…?

I shifted my head away from the light to look at the voice. The blonde haired Carson Pendalton sitting on a chair by the bed. He was oddly out of uniform, wearing a jacket and t shirt with sweatpants. His bright blue eyes had dark bags under them, his overall posture showed he had been sleep deprived for weeks.

“Carson…?”

“Alaska…you’re barely alive.”

“Yeah….I can tell…”

Carson helped me up and turned off the main light above me. After a few seconds of readjusting, I could see it was my room.

“What…happened…”

“You were unconscious when I went out to get you. Your wounds were pretty bad so it took awhile to get you patched up.”

“What….day is it.”

“October 17th.”

“You’re…kidding…right?”

“Nope.”

I groaned.

“So….you did take….a peek…”

“What?!?! Of course not!”

Carson’s face flared up red. I lightly smirked, patting his head.

“It’s ok…..I don’t mind…”

“Wh-wh-what…?”

“I always knew…you had a…..hard time….not staring at me…”

Carson slowly brought his knees to his chest, hiding his face in his hoodie. He looked adorable for a rear admiral.

Gosh…he’s so adorable….hard to believe this guy was a total douche before….or was that me…I don’t know anymore

“Yo-you lost a lot of blood….after the crash…”

“Really…? What day….is it then…?”

“October 17th…”

Oh….oh shit…

“Are we…still in port…?”

“N-no…..Pacific Ocean….”

“How…?”

“I got us out….wi-with help fr-from a friend….”

Practically as he finished his sentence, New Mexico walked in. She held a mug of hot chocolate in one with a phone in the other. She was oddly enough smiling.

“Been awhile kiddo.”

“Yeah…guess so…”

She walked over and handed me the mug, sitting next to me on the bed. Carson stared at her with an oddity of animosity.

“Thanks…”

“Course. Our good buddy here did most of the work. Mainly in making sure you were cleaned up and stable.”

“Oh….is that…so…?”

I looked at Carson, my head slightly tilted to the side. He hid his face more, giving me all the answers I needed.
