"Rise and shine little robin. Have you missed me? Because I've quite enjoyed watching you."

She was in a forest. She didn't know how or why she was here, but Janeice did know that she couldn't stop running. She ran as fast as she could, the shadowy figure relentlessly closing in on her. Its wings were flapping at lightning speed and she could feel its hungry, crimson eyes raking her form, searing through her like hot coals.

Clawed hands reached to pull at her moving tendrils of hair. They were eager to ensnare her in their grasp and it would stop at nothing till she was caught. Her heart pounded as she sprinted through the darkness, dipping in and out of sound waves and shadows, narrowly escaping the monster's ragged claws. The forest trees seemed to stretch infinitely.

'Where's the water?' Janeice's thoughts were barely coherent. 'I can't breathe, I need water!'

Janeice is getting tired. She barely managed to avoid the grazing of bloody claws across her back; lungs constricting. Black spots filled her vision as malicious laughter rang in her ears. It sounded like it was coming from every corner; the voice making her skin crawl. She couldn't discern where it was coming from.

"Ack!"

Janeice choked and her legs collapsed from exhaustion.

'No, no, no!'

She spun out across the forest floor until the monster cornered her, slamming her against a gnarled tree. There were 100s of eyes glaring at her, swirling with hunger and rage. Dozens of hands swarmed down to grab her. The talons ripped at her clothes and scratched her skin until she screamed for mercy.

"Aaaaahhh! Stop it, stop it, S̶̥̱̗͕͇̅̏̀͊͗́̒̽̍̚̕͠ͅT̶̢̨̨̨̧̢̛̳͉̥͕͕͓̳͔̖͖͉̺̫̪̙̝̭͉͔̠̪̺̻̱̝̬͇̮̠̼͋̆̀͆͛̉͗̀̃̅̔̏͗̿̊̔̀̀̂͆̀͂̄̍̉̀̈̀̿̒͒̕͜͝͠͝ͅȮ̴̡̧̧̠̪̜̬̗͉̹͉͈̝̘̬͍͉̦̥̙̟̳̜̥̦͇̹̹͓̣̖͖̮̤̲͕̯̽͒̽̽̈́̎̓͆̓̌͗̈́̾̆̿͑̈́̇́͛͌̊͋͛͊̌̚̕͘͜͜͜͠͝ͅP̷̡̜̩̂̏̇̂́͆͆̈́͆̓̐͝ ̶̢̧̨̛͙̹̘̙̤͉͙̺̝̬̱͙̬̦̩͙͔̰͓̤̪̤̩̯̬̈̇̒̐͒̃̽̈͑͋̆̅̃̃͊͐̎̉͗̕͝͠͠I̶̛̦̫̹̦̍̾̈̒̑̎́̀̽͂̈͝ͅT̸̡̧̬̪̠̟̱͖̠̗͈̝̘̞̩̬͙͊̔͋̑̌̑̚͝͠͝!̷̢̞͙̖͍͚͚̣̰̭̘̮̝͎̫̌͌͝!̶̗̪̫̰̼̺̳̫̦͖̭͈̾̐̈͋̀͆̓̕͜͝!"

Janeice gasped as cold sweat coated her trembling body. Janeice's wild state of mind made her revert back a little, her eyes now in their natural, inky black form and claws extended. The nightmare felt too real, too vivid, like an endless loop of agony. She was breathing hard, out of breath, just like in her dream. The remnants of her nightmare lingered and Janeice closed her eyes, humming a little melody to drown out the memory.

"Hmmm mmmm hmmm."

Janeice released some soothing vibrations to get her body to calm down. She's still trembling but it's starting to subside. Janeice switched from humming to deep breathing. In and out. In and out. In and out.

'That was terrible.'

Janeice groggily toke in the details of the ceiling fan spinning continuously. The cool air felt nice.

'I haven't had a nightmare that bad in years. What the hell was that about? Who or what was chasing me?'

Janeice is brought out of her thoughts by the light trill of a certain black cat. Oh, right. The cats are here, for whatever reason. She had to pretend to be asleep until she was able to fall asleep for real. Maybe that's what the thousands of eyes were referring to? Creeps.
