"Sebastian! Cease him!"

"With pleasure, my lord..."

"Alrighty then, I'll arrive with the cats at 11 am sharp. Thanks again, I appreciate it!"

The person on the other end of the line hangs up, allowing Jason to drop his cheery facade. He groans aloud before tossing his phone onto the bed, rubbing his temples. His head has been pounding since he woke up this morning.

Jason pops a Tylenol. The lady on the other end was nice, but her high-pitched voice only made his headache worse. Suffice it to say, he isn't exactly looking forward to this appointment today. He'll grin and bear it though, as he was incredibly lucky to snag an appointment on such short notice. Which sucks, because this is one of the very few times he actually doesn't want to leave the house. Talk about terrible timing!

That aside, Jason still has other things to take care of; his investigation, for example. He did his best not to be too obvious with his sneaking around, but he's not sure if he's been successful or not. Janeice had been eyeing him all throughout breakfast, even asking him bluntly why he was so jittery. Jason did his best to stutter out an excuse, but...

"Oh, I uh, I have to use the bathroom! Yeah haha! Almost peed myself last night and I can't afford another oopsie. See ya!"

"...."

Jason curled his lip in embarrassment. Yeesh, that was a stupid thing to say; even the cats looked disgusted. Everyone left him alone afterward, though. He's not sure if that's a good thing.
He has three hours before the appointment. Right now, Jason is checking over things to pass the time and find some clues. The cats have been in his room a lot, so he thought it'd be smart to see if anything was out of the ordinary.

"Nothing so far," Jason mutters to himself. "I don't see how they could've left something behind. Nor does it look like they've stolen anything."

Jason bends down to dig deep into his closet. Doing this reminds him of a conversation he had with Janeice a few days before.

"What's got you all holed up in here?"

"I'm looking for some of my old anime DVDs but I can't find 'em anywhere."

Jason's eyes widen at the memory. With everything going on, he's completely forgotten about those DVDs. He was supposed to watch them with Janeice this weekend, but she hasn't asked him about it since that day.

"That's kinda weird actually. Usually, she'd be on my ass about that sort of thing.

Jason continued shuffling through stuff as he contemplated aloud, "She's probably too stressed to remember. Not that I blame her."

He has a mini collection of his favorite manga and anime tucked into a small corner of his closet so that he doesn't have to walk all the way to his study to reach the essentials. But as he looks through it again, he finds that his absolute favorite series is still nowhere to be found.

"Where on earth is Kuroshitsuji? I know for a fact that I put it here after reading it last time. At least...I'm pretty sure I did...?"

Jason sighs as he gently bangs his head on the wall.

"Ugh, it's always something, ain't it? Whatever, I'll search for it later. I've got bigger fish to fry right now."

"Psst."

"Ah!"

Jason spun around, only to be met with the slightly distressing sight of Janeice's short stature in his room. How long had she been standing there, and how did she get in? He could've sworn he locked the door...
