"Ya oughta be nicer to that girl, my lord. However do you expect to catch any flies with all of that vinegar?"

—————————————————————————Janeice felt like she was floating in an abyss, a dark and empty space that nullified all sensation. She couldn't feel her limbs or hear anything. It was just a maddening, empty void of silence until, at last, she could open her eyes.
She woke up in an unfamiliar room, illuminated by candlelight. While scanning the area, Janeice became acutely aware that something was off—not just with her location, but with her body, as well. She's as stiff as a board and she doesn't feel any hair on her neck. That's odd, usually her twists would've fallen out of the bun by now.
Janeice got up as quickly as she could, and as soon as her feet hit the floor, she almost slipped. She only made a few movements and she's already out of breath.
'Am I wearing a corset? Why?'
Once she found balance and was able to walk, Janeice saw something glisten from the corner of her eye. She staggered towards the reflective light to see a full-length mirror. Janeice took a moment to catch her breath before looking at herself, and to say her appearance is stunning would be an understatement.
She's wearing a strangely extravagant dress that she definitely didn't remember going to sleep in. The midnight blue off-the-shoulder gown, adorned with rich burgundy lace trim, looked like something from a bygone era. Matching gloves and twists woven into an elegant updo completed the ensemble, and her beads were solidified and extended, forming a golden crown that emulated the sun. Lastly, her hair is garnished with extra golden adornments placed deliberately throughout the style.
Questions raced through her mind as she contemplated her appearance.
'Where am I? Why am I wearing this? Did someone dress me??'
Observing herself in the mirror once more, Janeice noticed another alarming detail—bits of her true form were exposed. Her eyes, pupiless and black as coal, claws extended beneath the gloves, and rows of shark-like teeth bared. Had she involuntarily reverted while asleep? She's been doing that a lot lately. Janeice thought she mastered that instinct years ago.
'I think I might be dreaming, and if that's the case then my powers are no good here. Hmm, how annoying. But no matter, I might as well see what my mind has in store for me.'
Janeice toke as deep of a breath as she could before exhaling. Alright then, it's time to venture out.
Janeice stepped into a void of absolute darkness. It was so dark that most wouldn't have been able to see their own hand; most people, that is.
'Good thing my eyes are made for the dark— now, time to see where this path leads.'
Janeice began to navigate the extensive corridor. She could tell through the darkness that wherever she's been taken to is extravagant. Large, warm yellow walls loomed over her. There were an abundance of paintings, flowers in imported vases, and opulent interior decor. That would explain the elaborate attire, but it doesn't explain why she's dreaming of such a place.
She must've passed dozens of rooms by this point, the halls seemed never ending and fatigue is setting in. The corset is crushing her first set of lungs, and without water to supplement, she's struggling to breathe. Not to mention, her movements were heavily constricted due to the sheer tightness of the thing.
