Axel Moretti's POV

"Then don't yell at them," she slurred, frowning deeply, and I couldn't resist the look in those big, green puppy eyes.

You're weakening me, beautiful. I've gone mushy.

Sighing, I let her hands go and looked at the others, 'you five are going to hear about this later,' I mind-linked, watching their mused expressions turn pale.

Then, after trying to save the little pride I had left, something came in harsh contact with my ass.

I jumped with a shrill squeak, whipping to face Angel, who's not quite acting like an angel, with wide eyes.

She was standing next to me wearing the cutest grin I've ever seen, and it screamed innocent, but I knew better than to believe that.

I felt everyone's eyes on us after my feminine squeal, and humiliation choked me for a number of reasons.

One, I just made a sound no normal man can possibly make.

Two, my tiny human just owned me in front of half my pack. I feel insanely emasculated.

Three, I will be doing absolutely nothing about it, so everyone will see her get away with such atrocities.

Gabbie busted out laughing and the others soon followed, while the rest of the pack was likely too afraid to laugh at my embarrassment.

I snatched my mate's wrists and pulled her alongside me, leaving the crowded room and stepping outside onto the porch. As soon as the door closed, she slipped out of my hold and gasped, her grin falling into a serious expression.

How do I sober a human up?

"Are you an alien?"

Huh?

"What?" I furrowed my eyebrows and she continued to dead stare right through me. It was beginning to be quite uncomfortable because, if I'm being honest, she's kind of scaring me.

If she thinks I'm an alien, what else could she be thinking about?

'Scary,' Dax shivered mockingly.

"If you had free will to choose any person in the whole wide world, would you still be with me?" She tilted her head and stumbled, grabbing onto the house before I had time to catch her.

That's such a smart question for such an intoxicated mind...

I opened my mouth to answer, but she suddenly collapsed and groaned. My body consumed with panic and worry, so I got down to help her. She was laying completely still, telling me she might've passed out already.

Until I saw her open one of her eyes and peek at me, quickly pretending to sleep again after seeing I was already staring down at her.

What the hell...

"I know you're not hurt," I raised a brow, watching her shoot into a sitting position and wobble. Her eyes rolled back and she groaned, plopping back onto the wooden boards with a small thud.

"Do I have to be hurt for you to kiss me?" She mumbled, turning her head and opening her eyes to look at me. Her face was extremely flushed and she looked so out of it.
