Zayn's P.O.V
I decided to go to my favourite place. The pier. Yes, near water. I got in my car and drove to the beach. I got out and walked down to the pier. It was really relaxing. I sat down on the wooden surface with my feet hanging over the edge. It was close to sunset, so the sky was a beautiful pink-orange colour. I used to come here all the time with my grandma as a kid. She would by me an ice cream on the way here from one of those shops down the beach when there were markets on. That was years ago. I now came here alone, it was my thinking place. Everyone has one. I just sat there, thinking about today. If the hate really got to Perrie, why didn't she say something earlier? Why didn't she tell one of the girls? Or me? Did she think that she could handle it on her own? No one can do that! Ugh, why was she being bi-polar? Why was she laughing? I decided to text Perrie, saying that I was coming back to her house, and that we're going to sort this out. Together.
I made my way up the walkway for the second time today, and ringing the doorbell, for the second time today. This time, it was Leigh-Anne who answered the door, and immediately let me in. She showed me upstairs to which was obviously Perrie's room. One, it had 'Perrie' written on it in big, pink letters that she'd obviously done herself. Two, she had also drawn flowers and stuck them on the door as well. I internally laughed at her 'hippy-ness' and knocked on the door.
"Go away Jesy." I heard her say through the door.
"It's not Jesy." I said, stating the obvious. I heard shuffling and her voice again.
"Go away Zayn." she said again. I simply shook my head and tried the door handle. It was open so I opened it. I was quite shocked at what I saw. On her drawers/vanity whatever you call it, her make up was everywhere, carpet, bed sheets, pillows. There were clothes thrown all around the room, on the floor, bed and her wardrobe which was open. Then I saw Perrie. Lying on her bed, tear tracks clear on her cheeks. I sat down carefully on her bed and looked at her.
"Perrie, what's going on? Surely this is more than the hate." I said quietly, trying not to make her upset. She looked at me with, fear? in her eyes. What did I do?
"Perrie..?" I tried again, this time reaching out to touch her. She flinched away. Ok, now I was confused.
"D-Don't t-touch m-m-me." She said shakily, obviously from crying.
"Perrie, what did I do? Please Perrie, tell me. Why'd you do this to your room? Why are you shutting everyone off all of a sudden?" I asked, carefully wording what I was saying. She just stared at something on top of her blanket. I followed her stare and noticed her phone was on, the only light source in this room at the moment. I picked it up and had a look at it. It was a 'news/gossip' web page. I was curious as to why she was crying over this but then I read the article that followed.
Rumours have spread quite fast around the world in the past few days, saying that One Direction's Zayn Malik has cheated on his Little Mix girlfriend Perrie Edwards. We're not sure if this is true, but it damn well seems like it. Some teenage girls have spoken out about how they were involved in this 'incident'.
"We met him and the others at a meet and greet" one said "He signed our album and we walked off, seeing as he was the last in line, thinking it was just his signature. But when I looked at the cover, he had written what looked like his phone number. So, I texted him and we had a couple of conversations over a week, before he suggested that we met up. I knew he was going out with Perrie, so I asked him about her. He said not to worry about it. So we went to his flat and we sl-"
I threw down the phone in disgust. How on earth do people come up with these things? I stood up and paced around Perrie's room, kind of forgetting she was here. So that was the reason her room was a mess? I growled at the thought that someone would accuse me of cheating on Perrie. She's too special! I would never do that! Impossible! I stopped pacing when I realized that Perrie was still in the room.
"Perrie.. I'd never do that to you. Never." I reassured her. Don't think it quite worked.
"No!" she shouted, before jumping up and running out of the room. I sat down on the bed and put my head in my hands. Why do people come up with these things, just to ruin our lives? It's not fair on any of us. It's plain stupid. I sighed and walked downstairs, where Perrie was cuddled into Jade, while Jade was rubbing her back. Both girls looked up at me. Perrie started crying again, while Jade just glared.
"Jade, I didn't do anything. I swear!" I said, desperately trying to get her to believe me. She shook her head.
"It's not me you have to convince, Zayn. It's Perrie. And right now, she doesn't know what to believe." she said. I sighed and looked around. Jesy and Leigh-Anne weren't there. Jade motioned me to leave. Before I did though, I walked up to Perrie and kissed her forehead.
"I love you Perrie. I'd never do anything like that to you. Ever." I whispered, then walked out the door.
