Liam's P.O.V

*Flashback*

"Hey, Sophia. Can I speak to you for a minute?" I asked her.

"Sure." She said, not getting up from her spot, surrounded by her friends.

"In private?" I asked her again, trying to keep polite.

"Liam, you know that whatever you can tell me, you can tell me in front of my friends, you know." She said, motioning towards her friends.

"I know, but please?"

"Liam," She said, getting up from her spot and walking closer to me. "What is the matter. I'm staying here and if it's not that important then you can leave."

"I-I." I stammered. Curse you, Liam.

"You what? Cat got your tongue?" Sophia teased. This is why I plan on ending it. She always teased me about it. I've put up with it for a while, ever since last year, but it's gotten too much.

"Sophia, I think we should break up." I said, loud and clear for the whole café to hear.

"W-What?"

"You heard me. I'm done. So done. With you teasing me, spending all my money and looking through my phone to see if I had "cheated" on you. It's too much, Sophia. I can't do this anymore!" I shouted, noticing that people had their phones out recording every single minute of this conversation. I was trying to keep my cool, but it was hard. She was so naïve to think that I'd keep dating her when I know she's done all that shit to me.

"Liam, I-"

"No, we're done. Go back to one of your other exes that didn't ask you out twenty two times, and get rejected that many times either!" I spat, losing my cool. My head jerked to the right and a stinging sensation went through my cheek. I turned back to see Sophia not even crying, but smiling. I was so confused.

"Oh, poor Li-Li. Did you get a boo-boo? Here, let me make it worse!" She said, before slapping me in the exact same spot, before walking off, her posse not far behind.

I stood there in the café, taking deep breaths. I then turned towards the people who had recorded it all.

"You better delete those videos." I said, before storming out the door. I was still trying to control my breathing, and I didn't realize that I had knocked into someone until I fell face-first onto the concrete. I looked around and got up, seeing a curly haired woman on the ground as well, shopping bags everywhere. I quickly helped her up before gathering up some of the shopping bags, her grabbing the others.

"I'm so sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going. I've had a rough day." I explained in a rush.

"No, no it's OK. I'm a little bruised but I'll live." The woman said, rearranging the shopping bags on her hands. Her phone rang suddenly, so she hurriedly transferred all her shopping bags into one hand to get her phone out of her pocket.

"I'm sorry, I have to take this." She said, a sorry look on her face.

"It's OK, I'm Liam, by the way. Nice to meet you." I said politely.

"I'm Danielle, and it was a pleasure." She smiled, not being able to handshake, and walked off. It was nice to have a conversation with a girl who didn't scream or cry in your face.

I smiled back, shoving my hands into my pockets as I stared after her.

Her eyes were so full of life, so happy, innocent. It made me wonder why Sophia's weren't like that. Hers were so full of anger all the time. Was it because of me? Had my presence upset her for so long that she never looked happy? Yet, here I was, staring after a pretty girl whose eyes were making me smile. Had I been missing out on a girl who was happy being with me? Someone who looked happy to be talking to me? Like this girl, for instance. But she looked at me as if she didn't know who I was. Heck, I had to introduce myself for the first time in, well, a long time. If she knew me she would probably have her happy eyes turn dim like Sophia's did. Or were they always like that? I've forgotten. I've been with her too long to notice. I'm going to forget her, her very existence. I'm going to move on with my life, nothing can stop me from doing just that.
