Just When Things Are Fine, Something Bad Happens

Perrie's P.O.V

I was just relaxing with the girls, watching 'Pitch Perfect' when my phone rang. I looked at the caller ID and saw that it was my mum!

"Hey Mum!" I said cheerfully into the phone.

"Perrie," Mum said, sounding sad.

"Mum what's wrong?" I asked worriedly. She started sobbing down the line and that got me paranoid.

"Mum! What's going on? Tell me please!" I said, feeling like crying even though I don't even know what's going on. Mum started sniffling and calmed down.

"Perrie.. It's Uncle Craig" She sobbed. My heart immediately stopped. I knew Uncle Craig was going through a tough time with all the illnesses he's been having over the past couple of months, and we haven't found out why.

"M-Mum? I-Is he going to be alright?" I whispered, not trusting my voice.

"Perrie, darling. Uncle Craig has lung cancer".

Leigh-Anne's P.O.V

Perrie looked very distraught on the phone to her mum. We didn't know what was going on, but she started getting paler by the minute. I turned off the T.V and we all looked at Perrie, who was now crying. Jade got out of the recliner and comforted her. Next thing we know, Perrie was on the ground hyperventilating. Jade rushed to her aid while I picked up her phone.

"Hello?" I said.

"Leigh-Anne? Oh my goodness is Perrie alright?" Debbie(Perrie's mum obviously) asked, currently terrified. I understood that of course.

"She's.. She's on the floor hyperventilating!" I said to Debbie. I looked at Jesy who already had her phone out calling the ambulance.

"Dear god is she alright?" Debbie asked.

"She'll be fine, Jesy's ringing the ambulance now." I reassured her. It was quiet for a moment before I decided to speak up.

"Mrs Edwards.. What did you say to Perrie?" I asked, trying to find some answers. I heard her draw a shaky breath from the other side of the line.

"I-Her uncle.. He, he has lung cancer.." she finally said. That made me freeze up as well.

"Leigh? Please not you too!" I heard Jade say desperately. I snapped out of my frozen state and went back to my conversation with Debbie.

"Mrs Edwards, I promise we'll give you updates on Perrie. I have to go now OK?" I said.

"Yes, that's fine. Thank you Leigh-Anne." She said before hanging up.

I looked down at Perrie and saw that she had stopped shaking.

"I called Zayn. Just thought he should know.." Jade spoke. I nodded and knelt down next to Perrie.

"Perrie? Perrie can you hear me?" I asked her softly. She fluttered her eyelids. It wasn't much of a reaction, but it was something. I lifted her up bridal style and placed her carefully onto the couch.

"The paramedics said that she'll need to rest. It was a minor shock attack. Whatever news she received hit her hard." Jesy said.

"Her uncle has lung cancer." I said simply, looking at Perrie who started squirming. I hope she's alright.

Zayn's P.O.V

We were almost finished a radio interview when I got a call. My face flushed in embarrassment as I looked at the ID. Why is Jade calling me now? This better be serious.
