CHAPTER FOUR
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PLANET?
≪ ◦ ❖ ◦ ≫

THE LAST TWO DAYS HAVE BEEN WEIRD.

There was no room for her to dwell on the betrayal of her best friend, not that she had wanted to think about that (she still doesn't), but between texting Robby to let him know all the details of her plan and rereading stuff for school (unfortunately) there hasn't been any time to think about Hawk.

Only now, when she approaches the dojo's front door does she think about him.

She can feel his absence even outside of the dojo. And although it is silly because there were times when she was in Cobra Kai and he wasn't, she feels uncomfortable entering the building without her friend by her side.

At least she still has Tory. There is no way to summarize their friendship in just two sentences.

Both of them dated Miguel and for a while Mercy thought that this is their only similarity. But many, many late night phone calls after the school fight showed them that they are more alike than they both thought.

And also, both of them needed a best friend after Aisha had moved away.

So, she breathes in deeply before pulling the door open. The first thing that comes to her ears is Kyler's voice. Of course it is, this is what he does – talking loudly.

Luckily, her eyes find her best friend hitting the dummy. It seems to be one of those days, Tory's angry and needs to let her anger out on something.

Mercy understands that, she's kinda angry herself.

She simply nods at the boys before heading towards the other girl. Tory tries hard to punch the dummy louder than Kyler talks, but she fails.

"Where is everyone?" Mercy asks instead of a hello. This is what they do, they both hate it when people don't get straight to the point.

The dojo is empty except for the two girls, Kyler, Red, and Edwin. Although it's still relatively early (the lesson is to begin in twenty minutes), Mercy doesn't think that many more students will arrive.

Tory stops for a second and shrugs her shoulders.
"They're all pussies," she mumbles.

"My dad, he wants me to go to Harvard," Kyler tells the boys and Mercy can't help it to roll her eyes.

"You guys are pathetic. If you'd handled your business, we would have won that fight." Tory suddenly steps away from the dummy and makes her way towards the three.

"Okay, whatever. Hawk, he switched sides," Kyler argues.

Mercy wades over to them slowly. She is mad at Hawk for abandoning her, of course she is. He was the one who declared Cobra Kai for life not three months ago.
