MERCY LETS OUT A LOUD LAUGH WHILE WALKING TOWARDS THE DOJO.
Tory next to her couldn't help it but imitate Kyler. There is probably nothing better than to shit talk boys with your best friend.
"I'm really glad you've finally moved on from Miguel, by the way," she tells her before they reach the boys at the entrance door.
As Tory looks away from her, Mercy's smile fades. She's been busy acting like she's over Miguel for months, it's good to know that people actually believe it, but it also makes her sad.
Lying isn't new to her. Of course it isn't, she's seventeen years old and has lied about a lot of things in her life (not that she's proud of that).
But lying about dating someone is a bigger thing than lying about doing homework (which is a bad example because Mercy actually likes doing homework).
She decides that today is still gonna be a good day that can't be ruined by anything, not even Kyler's stupid jokes.
Kyler opens the door and Tory, Red, Edwin, and Mercy follow him. The boys laugh about something (probably another one of Kyler's jokes) but the laughter dies down quietly.
And with a look at the mat, she figures out why.
Robby looks at the group, his arms crossed in front of his chest and just like them, he's wearing the white Cobra Kai gi.
"Get a load of this chump. What are you doing here?" Kyler asks him with a shake of his head.
Mercy's wondering the same actually. He said that he never officially joined the dojo and doesn't intend to.
"Sensei Kreese isn't back yet, so I'm gonna get you guys warmed up," he replies and his eyes find those of his fake girlfriend.
She continues to stare at him with furrowed brows. Someone must have awful mood swings.
She might've told him to stop acting like he's above them, but that wasn't what she meant. That is actually the complete opposite of what she meant. And Kyler forms her thoughts into words.
"You've never been a part of this team and you think you're our sensei? Get the hell outta here, man." He steps closer to him and points at the door one of the other guy's is entering from.
"Who says we even want you?" Tory asks him provocatively. That is probably Mercy's cue to interject because of the dating story and all, but her friends are right.
He can't just show up out of the blue and act like this. So, she crosses her arms in front of her chest as well.
Tory glances at her best friend quickly, obviously misinterpreting the look on her face. "Besides Mercy, obviously."
