Jimin's hands still wrapped around his stomach as he sat straight, looking towards the open window where the sun shined brightly. His eyes reflected nothing but sorrow as he acknowledged how his life had turned upside down.

How he wished his life was all like the bright sunlight in the early morning, but it ended up being the darkness of night.

Even if he wanted to cry, he wasn't able to. He felt suffocated within himself, a painful sensation in his heart as the feeling of guilt rushed within him.

'I should've tried better to keep my child safe.'

'I should've listened to Jungkook and stayed at home.'

'Now Jungkook is sad because of my stupidity.'

Even if he wanted to speak out to others, he couldn't. He was too much of a coward to even let out his sorrow to them. Even to his Jungkook.

He wished for a beautiful family. He imagined their kid to play around the house. But it wasn't possible now.

"Jiminie..." A gentle voice called out for him, entering the ward.

Jimin's head tilted towards his lover, who stared at him with swollen and tired eyes. Jungkook's eyes that were always so positive and energetic had turned to something he never imagined to be. It was all his fault, wasn't it?

He quickly turned his face away, not wanting to stare at them for too long.

"Please.... please talk to me," Jungkook walked closer towards his bed, sitting beside him.

The smaller felt even more guilty. He tried to speak out, he really did... but the grief that engulfed him didn't allow him to.

'I'm trying... but I can't...' He thought, still not looking at the taller's eyes.

Jungkook's eyes moved towards Jimin's arms. He observed how the smaller was still holding onto his stomach. He didn't let go yet, did he?

The taller sighed, moving forward and pulling the latter into a soft hug, "I'm sorry for being a bad husband," he sobbed silently.

How much Jimin wanted to tell him, 'It's not your fault. You are the best husband.' But he failed miserably at letting his thoughts out.

In return, he returned the embrace to the taller, kissing his cheeks softly.

Chills ran down Jungkook's spine as he didn't expect the smaller to react that way. He truly believed that Jimin was angry at him, but oh well... he wasn't.

Jungkook pulled away, cupping Jimin's face. The smaller's eyes were numb, showing no emotions.
Just like how the previous Jimin would stare at him.

The smaller's lips were parted, as if he wanted to say something... but something within him didn't let him speak out, Jungkook knew it now.

"It's not your fault," Jungkook whispered, "you had tried your best to protect our baby... Trust me, it will get better as time passes."

That's when he finally saw Jimin's eyes glistening with a little tears in them. But the smaller pushed Jungkook away from him, again turning his face away from him.

'He's lying. I'm sure he knows that I'm the reason we're in pain right now.'
