When I woke up the air felt different. There was a shift and I couldn't figure out what it was or where it had started. After passionate love making and fucking all night long I passed out beside Emma. Just to wake up at twelve the next morning.
Climbing out of bed I stretch wanting to go to the bathroom and shower but instantly remembering the text she'd sent me. Shit Keshay. She said she needed me and I left her high and dry. Whatever it was I'm sure I can make it up to her and talk about it.
As I make my way down the steps I see Constance vacuuming in the living room. When I walk past her the sound cuts off and she calls out to me. "Senator Mithen," I turn around my eyebrows knitting together in curiosity. "She left."
"Who left?" I repeat in confusion.
She nods towards the door that leads to the pool house. "Ms. Lewis. She left a while ago."
Instant panic and worry consumes me. "Left where? Who authorized that?" I ask pulling out my phone. As I go to my contacts and click her number it doesn't even ring before going to voicemail. "Where is that nurse? Did he take her?" A million thoughts are running through my mind as I begin texting my security detail.
"I'm not sure," Constance replies lowly. "I know Nurse Yazon was with her. Not sure where they went."
"No this shit can't be true." I spit out saying fuck the conversation I speed walk my way to the pool house. Opening the door I expect it to be some type of sick prank. I expect to be met with her clothes, crutches, and bags still there. With her sleeping in bed peacefully. But instead I'm met with empty drawers, a made bed, and an empty desk. My chest rises and falls at a quick pace as worry begins to fill me. Not because I'm worried something happened to her but because I'm worried that something didn't happen. That this was all her idea, that she left willingly, that last night I could've talked her out of leaving but stupidly ignored her.
Within an hour my entire security detail is standing in my living room. Emma quietly watches as I grill each of them. "What do I pay you for? Is my money not worth a damn? How in the hell do not one of you know where she is?" I question talking mostly to the group of four.
"Sir with all due respect we're paid to watch you-"
"No you are paid to watch who I tell you to watch. Which is everyone who is near me. I don't give a damn if I tell you to watch a work in a jar if that's what I'm paying you for you better be doing it." I rant massaging my temple as I get more and more pissed by the minute.
Eliza face frowns up and him being the lead of the detail he steps forward practically challenging me. "She was discreet in leaving. She didn't announce it, she must've not wanting you to know." His words hit so much more different knowing that he knows I'm having an affair. He's taken me to hotels so many times, he cares for Keshay. Hell he's a friend to both of us. And I know he would've never made a mistake like letting her get away. Unless it wasn't a mistake-
