SYLVIA CRINGED AS SHE WATCHED DALLAS FLIRT WITH IRIS
She had been watching Dallas from a distance whenever she saw him since their break up. She would give him a glance and occasionally watch him interact with his friends, but she would stare whenever he interacted with another girl. Her blood would boil and her eyes would become engulfed in flames. She felt as though she was burning up with a fever, one that left her in a sweat and chills. She was left with a sick feeling in her stomach whenever she finally looked away, a feeling that she couldn't shake.
Iris was the one who made her truly angry, who infuriated her. Not just because she was always talking to Dallas, but because she could see that Dallas had true, real feelings for Iris— something that Dallas never had for Sylvia.
Seeing Dallas practically cling to Iris at the Dingo, following her as she returned to the counter after taking their orders made Sylvia feel beyond furious. She shifted in her seat, her fists clenching and cramping from anger. "That bitch." She whispered underneath her breathe as her friends abruptly stopped their conversation.
"Sylvia, you need to get over him. He dumped you, remember?" Her friend Jenna told her, brushing her hand over her shoulder which Sylvia quickly shoved off.
"It was a mistake.. and soon he will realise it." Sylvia seethed and huffed, turning back to the sight before her that made her just as sick as it had with the other girls that Dallas would flirt with. By that point, she couldn't help but wonder whether or not Dallas had been doing it on purpose,
"Sylvia.. you did cheat on him a bunch of times. I mean.. are you surpr-" Sylvia then cut Jenna off, slapping her shoulder with a cross look on her face. Her friend quickly shut her mouth, closing it tightly.
When Sylvia looked back, Dallas was back at his table with his gang. Sylvia watched as Iris made her way to the back, disappearing through the doors. Sylvia then had an idea pop into her head, giving her friends a smirk and a raise of her eyebrows. They all looked at her with confused before Sylvia nodded her head toward the direction that Iris left in. The puzzle pieces clicked in their hands and they all smiled.. all of them except Jenna. "Sylvia no!-" Jenna was once again cut off by the rest of the girls getting up from their seats, smacking coins down before grabbing their belongings and walking toward the door. Jenna rushed behind them, catching up quickly.
As they all passed through the tables, rushing toward the door— Sylvia winked at Dallas as she walked past him, giving him an idea of what was about to happen. Although it took Dallas the rest of lunch to understand, once he did, he immediately rushed out of the diner. His friends watched in confusion as he sped walk— practically ran down the sidewalk.
As Iris continued on her way home from the diner, still pondering about Dallas, she suddenly felt a presence behind her as well as the sound of rushed footsteps. Iris stopped and turned around, suddenly feeling a stinging sensation on her cheek after finding herself on the ground.
