Story Unfolds :
At the burning ghat near Kurukshetra: On the 10th day of the Mahabharata war: At evening:
Only two persons were standing tall there. Broken. Devasted. Dejected. Sad. Dead. Wishing for the death of their own.
Two pyres were burning side by side. Of two young immature boys. Of 15 and 13. They died together. One after another. On the very next day. In the hands of their enemies. Pandava.
A man was standing lifelessly beside the burning pyres with burning red eyes. His eyes were blurred in tears yet his heart was burning in anger. He wanted to avenge the death of his all innocent boys!!! At this fatal bloody war of Mahabharata!!! One by one!! At that time, among his 9 living sons, only 2 were alive. The first born son Vrishasen or Vrish and the last born son Vrishaketu or Vrishi. All others of them were now gone!!! Long dead!! Demised!!! At the prime of their age, youth and health!!! Among them the eldest Satyasen was 20, Chitrasen was 19, Banasen was 17, so also his twin siblings Shatrunjay and Dpitatva. And those two boys, whose pyres were now burning together, Prasen and his sibling Sushen, were more young. (I told you earlier their real age.)
The man stirred a little and accused the person who was standing behind him in only one sentence
"Ap pashan ho!!! (You are in reality a stone hearted woman!!!)"
The reason of his this accusation was that he did not saw her shedding tears for her sons!! After the prematurely demise of her Banasen!! Why?!! He failed to comprehend that!! A bit!!!
The person who stood behind him in trance mode and vacant eyes, were to be seen now clearly. He or she stood up lifelessly. By lowering head. To the floor. But from the attire, it seemed that it was a woman. As she wore a simple white Saree with red borders at both end.
Now, after his accusation, she lifted her eyes to him and looked vacantly at his handsome face. In the question mode. Now, even being the darkness of evening time nested a shadow on her face, Her face was seen partially. She was none but the heroine of our this story. Devi Vrushali Padmavati. Our beloved Padma.
Her brain was infuriated in deep rage. She was dying inside!!! With each and every son of hers!!! She watched the pyre of her each and every son and saw them burning down by her very own eyes till now!!! Yet she did not a bit cry!! She forgot to do it!! She cried aloud when she witnessed everything. For the first time. The blood soaked cold body of her Bana lying in the pool of blood!!! Broken hands!! Tore up limbs!!! God why?!! That boy did not do anything to her Sakhi Krishna!! Then why so horrible death to that young boy of 17!!!! God damn why?!!
She fall down on the floor clutching her heart and losing her senses. But for that time only. Till then she was as if in some trance. The dead bodies of Satya, Chitra, Shatru, Dip, Sush and Sen came and go!!! She lost her voice to scream!!! She lost her urge to ran behind them!! She lost her mind to fight against them who dragged their bodies to the burning ghat!!! She lost the desire to clutch lifeless and cold corpses in her chest for the last time!! In her heart, she did not dare to think of them as gone!!! To Supriya, they all were gone!!! She admitted it and was in her deathbed!!! To Uruvi, they all were gone too!! As she witnessed the brutal murders by her own eyes!!! She lost her mental sanity instantly after the deaths!!! Yet to Padma!!! God no!! She did not a bit accepted that her sons were gone!!! Her mind stopped with the death of her dear Banasen!!! After that, she, as if in her own trance mode, stood there, at the burning ghat beside all, paralysed, perplexed, sad but not in acceptance mode!!! She was fighting hard to decline the truth of her sons death!!! She had looked like a paralysed lifeless doll to everyone at there!!!! Even to her foes!!! She lost the urge to cry!! To scream!! To be sad!!! To repent!! To lament!! To say something!!! She was long dead!!! With them all!!! Yet she was still now standing tall!!! Neither broken like her Uru nor half-dead like her Su!!!! She was an warrior!!! She still fighting for her family bravely!!! With the long lost hope of survival!!!
