Harumi arrived at the village along with Kisame and Itachi who were looking around. She knew she'd need to split up from them soon, and they were most likely staying here for that night either way, so it wasn't that much of a big deal. She gave a quick look around, almost hoping to immediately find Hido, but sighed when her small effort came to no result. She then turned to Itachi and Kisame, pointing behind her.
"I'm going to go give my letter, I'll see you guys soon," she said, about to leave when a voice stopped her.
"Do you know how long you'll be?" Itachi asked. Kisame was curious as one would think if she really was delivering a letter, she'd be back rather soon. Harumi paused for a moment before holding her chin, pretending to be in thought. She knew it would probably take quite a bit of time to find Hido, so what should she say?
"It might take a while. I don't know where he is. He doesn't work with a company," Harumi stated.
"I see. We will check in at the hotel then," Itachi replied.
"Try not to take too long." Kisame grinned. She nodded, waving as both of them walked away.
Harumi then started her search. She looked from stall to stall, from store to store, and from direction to direction. She was also thinking about what she would say to Akito as she searched. She could do and say many things. She could start off by acting clueless, and then get her alone and confront the crap out of her. That, or she could outright punch her when she saw her. She could also talk to Hido about it first, but that felt somewhat wrong.
She felt a rush of hate go through her at the thought of Akito still being with Hido after having sent Kisame and Itachi right to her doorstep. She felt her chakra spike at the very image of Akito holding Hido's arm and comforting him after telling the Akatsuki and the Hidden Leaf where she was. How he had probably told her his worries, and she just held him and pretended to be clueless. Harumi's hands fisted, her eyes darting across the people who walked. She just wanted to find one tall, brown haired and brown eyed boy. Was that so hard?
Still, the thought of seeing him again warmed her heart. She'd waited so long. It felt almost surreal that she was actually going to. This was the longest she'd ever been away from him, and she didn't like it. The thought of hugging him again, letting him hold her in his arms, that feeling of safety, she craved it. It was the only thing keeping her sane from the idea of seeing Akito was the idea of seeing Hido again. She smiled, looking around before she suddenly froze.
Her eyes landed on a face. A face she knew. A face she recognized, talking to a stand owner. A face she cared for and loved. She didn't even realize she yelled out his name until he turned to her, blinking with surprise. She watched as his eyes widened and his jaw dropped a bit. She watched his every reaction as she ran forward, throwing herself into his arms as she wrapped her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck.
"HIDO!" she said as she hugged him tightly, too afraid to let him go.
"Is it really you, Harumi?" Hido asked as he buried his face into her neck, taking in a shaky breatth. It was her. It was really her. It was the girl he'd spent so much time looking for, jumping from village to village and town to town asking about, the girl he'd cried over the loss of. She was here. In his arms. He didn't let her go, holding her tighter than she was him, which he didn't know was possible.
She heaved, shaking in his arms as she wasn't sure if it was real either. "It's me. It's me. This better be you. Please tell me this isn't a dream."
Hido rubbed her back, a movement he always did to comfort her. "It's not a dream. I'm right here. I'm right here, Lavender."
