Quite shorter than usual, but I can't get this little daydream out of my mind and I just had to write it out. Luffy's resting form makes me emotional due to many reasons, some being mentioned in the story itself. The whole Wano arc was a wonderful ride and I can't believe we're almost at the end of it.

Both hands carrying a basin of clean, clear water, you walk through the hallways with your gaze exploring the beautiful views of Wano. With the castle situated high up on a giant sakura tree, you can see everything. And to top it all off, it's a beautiful day.

You halt in your steps, taking a deep breath to relish everything. It's not like you're in a rush anyway.

Sakura petals dance along the steady breeze, and the sky is clear and blue. Below, you can see people happily going about their business, enjoying their newly found freedom after winning the war on Onigashima. Children set up colorful kites and run around the street, giving the place a wonderful vibe. On another side, a long line of people stand before a large cart full of delicious food and crops and water from the Paradise Farm, eagerly and patiently waiting for their free share.

After years of pain and suffering, these people can finally have a bright future ahead of them.

"(Y/n)!" You hear Yamato's cheery voice calling you from the end of the hallway.

"Good morning Yamato-kun!" You greet, making your way towards him.

"Good morning! You were just standing there spaced out in the middle of the hallway, I thought something was wrong," He replies concerningly.

"Oh, I was just looking at the view, that's all. I haven't really seen it properly up until now so I couldn't help it," You smile.

"Is that so? Then, do you wanna join me on the roof later? After you're done with that I mean," He invites you, pointing to the water basin you're carrying. "Wait, it's not too heavy for you, is it?"

You let out a small chuckle, "It's alright, thank you, and I'll be more than happy to hang out with you. I'll see you then?"

"Yeah! Alright, see you later too!" He waves before running off.

You enter the door with quiet steps so as not to disturb Chopper and Miyagi sleeping by the corner. They have exhausted themselves to the bone, treating people that needed medical attention after the war, and then the citizens that have been neglected with care. They deserve a restful sleep.

When you finally reach the middle of the room, you gently set down the basin and kneel right beside Luffy.

A week has already passed, and yet there was no sign of both him and Zoro waking up, though it did not cause alarm. After all, not to dismiss everyone's efforts, but they fought harder than everyone else and it was already a given that the aftermath would incapacitate them for a week or two at least, given how beat up their bodies were after the war.

Luffy lays motionless on the futon, his whole body covered in bandages and not even a single snore coming out of his mouth. You're not really used to seeing him this quiet in his sleep, knowing how him and Zoro are the loudest sleepers in the crew.

His straw hat is placed right by his head, as if waiting for its owner to wake up.

You lean down and caress his face adoringly, happy to have him alive and right in front of you. When his 'voice' disappeared in the middle of the battle, you felt the most intense sensation of fear and dread that you have ever encountered, and you can't help but admit that it left you shaken.

But he's alright now. He's alive and healing, and you're just about to clean him.

With trained hands and experienced motions, you slowly unravel the bandages on his arms as they're the easiest. Afterwards, the ones on his legs, his body, and then his head, before you discard them to the side. You pull out a clean washcloth and dip it in the basin before wringing out the excess water. With all the tenderness you could ever manifest in your movements, you meticulously clean every inch of his body.

Usually, one would need an assistant for such a task, but it only takes you a flick of your fingers and a few spell words to move him in a way that won't hurt him, so that you can include his back, the same spells you used when lifting him a few inches off the futon to successfully remove the stained bandages and the same ones you'll use when replacing fresh, clean ones.

After approximately an hour, he's all clean and wrapped in new bandages, and you're done. You sit down on your bottom this time, relaxing as you hold his hand, intertwining his fingers with yours and giving it a little squeeze in hopes to convey that you're by his side.

You stay there for a while, waiting for Hiyori to come and clean Zoro this time, with your much needed assistance since she doesn't have magic to move him around like you do, but since she hasn't arrived yet, you slowly set yourself down on your side and prop up your head using your folded arm, while your other hand remains in contact with Luffy.

As your eyes flutter close from the comfortable ambience, you can see an image in your mind of you and the whole crew, finally complete and enjoying the massive victory banquet you all planned before.
