O L I V I A

Leaving the bar with my friends, we laugh loudly into the night. Everyone is drunk except for me and Jaxon, who drank less. We stumble together, still chuckling over a joke Sam told earlier.

"That was a fucking great night! We should do this more often!" Jordan exclaims, clearly drunk.

"Yeah, seriously! But next time, I'm definitely having more drinks," Everett chimes in, grinning.

"I agree, but let's not forget the snacks. I'm fucking starving!" Isabel adds, trying to keep her balance.

"Well, some of us were too busy laughing to eat," Sam playfully quips.

"I'll volunteer to be the designated driver next time. You guys will need one," Jaxon says while smirking.

"Why stop now? Another round, anyone?" Sam proposes with an impish grin.

Everett is quick to agree, and Isabel, a bit wobbly, nods with a hungry look.

"Sure, one more won't hurt," Jaxon says.

"I've had enough. I'm going home," Jordan declares.

"Are you up for another round, Liv?" Jaxon asks, leaning closer to me.

"I think I'll go with Jordan to make sure she stays out of trouble," I decline with a warm smile and Jordan scoffs.

"I'm not that drunk, Picasso,"

"Of course, you're not, firecracker," I mockingly agree.

Unexpectedly, Jaxon moves closer and hugs me, catching me by surprise.

"Be careful on your way home," he says softly.

I'm taken aback but return the hug, feeling a bit uneasy.

"And me? Why don't you hug me too?" Jordan interrupts and complains with a playful pout as Jaxon pulls away.

"He's head over heels for Livia, can't you see? He's got eyes only for her," Sam, who's the least sober, teases.

Everyone laughs and I feel a bit nervous, blushing slightly.

"Alright, you guys, cut it out," Jaxon interjects, trying to stop the jokes, which just makes everyone laugh even more.

After saying goodbye, we split up. As I'm lost in thought about Ace, I consider talking to Jordan for some advice. Tonight seems like a good time to empty my bag, but my nerves hold me back. Despite being my best friend for years, I didn't tell Jordan I got back with Ace.

I thought it was the right choice back then, but now I'm feeling desperate and unsure. Deciding to try again with Ace, even knowing everything about his life, made me feel hopeful. I missed the happiness he brought into my life so I overlooked the complications. With Ace around, I felt complete and happy.
