A loving smile lits up my face as I gently lift Olivia from her seat, and she responds with an equally affectionate smile. Cradling her in my arms, I make my way out of the office.
"What were you up to while I was gone?" I ask, and she pouts playfully while wrapping her arms around my neck, pulling me closer.
"I kept working in the studio for a while, then I watched a movie. After that, I roamed through your apartment and couldn't resist coming to your office to work on my flea market ideas," she replies and my smile only grows wider.
"Did you eat something?" I ask with concern.
Olivia, mischievous as ever, shakes her head, her eyes dancing with amusement. As we reach the living room, I suddenly stop, a hint of worry creasing my eyebrows.
"Why didn't you eat?" I inquire, concerned.
Olivia, still grinning mischievously, squirms in my arms, gesturing for me to let her down. She takes my hand and leads me to the kitchen, eager to show me something.
But when we enter, her attention is immediately drawn to the kitchen island, where she finds a lovely bouquet of flowers and a bunch of delicious pastries waiting for her. Her face lights up with joy, and she turns to me with a grateful and curious expression.
"Are these for me?" She asks, and I can't contain my grin as I nod.
"Of course, they are," I reply, feeling content.
Olivia giggles happily as she approaches the counter, running her fingers over the flower petals and bending down to smell their sweet fragrance.
"You always know how to make me smile," she says, her eyes locking onto mine.
My heart skips a beat as I step closer, and she leans up on her toes, her lips meeting mine in a sweet kiss of gratitude.
"Seeing you happy is all I ever want," I whisper with affection as we part.
Olivia's happiness spreads to me, and it warms my heart to see her so joyful over a simple treat. Her smile tells me she loves them.
As she munches on her pastries, I step up behind her, my hands securing each side of her body, trapping her between me and the kitchen island. I kiss her neck softly and she inhales sharply.
"Seriously, Liv," I murmur, my warm breath against her skin as goosebumps erupt. "Why didn't you eat? Hm?"
She pauses, chewing thoughtfully for a moment before swallowing. Then, she turns her head slightly, meeting my eyes with a tender expression.
"I guess I was just waiting for you to come back," she admits, shrugging casually her voice soft and affectionate.
My heart swells at her words, and I tighten my embrace around her waist, kissing her cheek and resting my chin on her shoulder.
