Amelia was woken up by the soft knock on the door of her room chambers. She grumbled as she tried to get out of bed. She felt tired, exhausted, and worn out.
She rubbed her eyes as she grabbed her night dress from the stand beside the bed.
Last night had been beautiful. Enzo had spent the night taking her on a rollercoaster of pleasure. They kissed, touched and moaned, gasping for air as they dominated each other. They had gone six rounds of making love that Amelia felt sore between her legs. She smiled as she remembered.
She struggled to walk properly as she tried to reach for the chamber doors. Enzo had probably left to attend to important matters.
It suddenly struck her, Eleanor and Luca had left already. She felt a pang of pain in her chest. She did not get a chance to say good bye. As the knock came again she tried to hurry to get to the door. It was a servant
"Your highness, the royal physician has been invited to tend to your needs" the female servants bowed
"Oh! I am barely cleaned up" she acknowledged.
"The royal maids shall prepare a warm bath" the servant bowed as she signaled the rest of the maids who stood behind her.
"Is the prince to be there when I am being checked by the physician?" Amelia asked hoping to get a response
"The prince is to tend to the affairs of the state, word has spread that the king had ordered for the journey to Ecuador" the servant informed her
Amelia knew what that meant.
Enzo would rage! His rage would burn the palace walls. She still did not understand why It affected Enzo so much.
"Shall I get your dresses ready?" The servants asked noticing that the maids were done with the bath
Amelia nodded as they led her.
Enzo paced around the royal court room in rage! No one had bothered to inform him. More so, they let Luca travel alone without him.
"They are already far gone" Dario said in an attempt to calm him down
"When did they leave?" He asked but no one answered
"I require answers!!!" He barked again sending shivers down their spine
"At dawn, father ordered" Aldo spoke up
Enzo laughed.
Of course! His father would do this behind his back.
"I shall leave for Ecuador at once!" He said
"None of that shall be done" king Edward roared!
"You put Luca, his beloved and the heir at risk!" Enzo barked
The king kept silent.
They all did.
They knew what happened the last time.
They understood the reason for Enzo's sentiments. But the war had escalated. It needed to be stopped.
"Father!" Enzo called
"I wish to hear none of it, forty guards have been ordered to go on the journey, twenty ahead, ten with them and ten behind" the king said hoping to dismiss him
"That is barely enough. I should be with him" Enzo tried to reason
" You are not the hero Enzo! I cannot lose two sons!" The king barked
Enzo looked at his father disbelievingly
His father knew about the risks yet he ordered the journey.
