TWO POWERS (Todoroki Shoto x Reader)

Chapter 7: Battle

Monday rolls around and you find yourself sitting through hours of regular lessons. Your timetable has core lessons in the morning like English and mathematics. Then you have a longer lunch break during which you can buy Cook Hero: Lunch Rush's delicious dishes on the cheap. The afternoon classes are concerned with hero work, and are the ones you're dreading the most at this point.

Due to lagging behind yesterday, you overheard people talking about you behind your back. You told yourself that it doesn't bother you but you yourself can tell that you're more conscious of your actions. Standing out too much might be interpreted as being cocky so you decide to keep a lower profile.

When your dad asked you about your day, you concealed what really happened. Todoroki knows the most but hadn't said a word, but considering his actions yesterday you are sure that he wouldn't turn against you.

"I AM HERE coming through the door like a hero!" All Might makes his grand entrance.

The whole class is in awe and people are not hiding their excitement. "So he really is a teacher."

You of course knew that he was one and that you would meet at school from time to time. All Might and you decided that since you had finished your basic training, you would only meet every other week to check in on your progress. You also had decided to increase your power output by at least five before every meeting, something you've been dreading since your almost-accident at twenty percent.

"Welcome to the most important class at U.A High. Think of it as heroing 101. Here you will learn the basics of becoming a pro and what it means to fight in the name of good. Let's get into it! Today's lesson will pull no punches!"

From this you understood that you will be engaging in real combat right off the bat. You are not confident in your fighting technique but you're sure that you can hold your own, even if that means using less proper moves.

All Might continues, "But one of the keys of being a hero is LOOKING GOOD! These were designed for you based on your quirk registration forms and the requests you sent in before school started."

Seeing shelves slide out of the concrete walls with numbered cases prompted additional squeals from some members of the class.

"Get yourselves suited up and then meet me at training ground beta!"

"Yessir!" everyone chorused.

You and everyone else stand up to get their costumes while All Might goes on ahead. You take and open a case with the number 18, matching your seat number. In it you find a folded up regular school uniform – at first glance at least. The costume consists of a white short-sleeved shirt and a plated vest and a tie. There is also a pleated skirt that matches the vest and a pair of shorts to go underneath; not to mention long white socks and a modified black pair of Mary Janes.

You are not sure how it works, but you had requested that all the clothes be made so that they are always warm. You plan to have most of your legs and arms exposed so you can use your heating quirk more freely. The main reason you decided to request an inconspicuous costume was to look less suspicious, although now you are thinking that it doesn't do much for your presence. Or perhaps this was all a silent plea for normality.

You quickly change and the clothes do feel very warm. You direct heat to your limbs as well to even out your body temperature. In that fashion you make your way to ground beta along with all your classmates, decked out in awesome fits. Well, besides Todoroki.

"They say that clothes make the pros and behold, you are the proof. Take this to heart, from now on you are all heroes in training! You look so cool!" All Might hypes us up. "Now, shall we get started, you bunch of newbies?"
