You're sitting in the Todorokis' living room with Endeavour and Todoroki, who you've just called by his first name. Both of them know that you're the next symbol of peace, but since they haven't asked the obvious question of how it's possible, you assume they haven't had time to think about it long. The room feels stuffy, packed with tension and uncertainty.

"Shoto isn't me, huh?"

Thankfully, your phone ringing in your pocket doesn't allow Endeavour to continue. It's your dad. You also inform others of this and after deciding to sound as unaffected as possible, pick up and put it on speaker. He begins the conversation right away.

"Hi, Sunshine. Sorry for not calling you back sooner. How are you?"

"I'm fine, everything considered. Hey, I was wondering, could you figure out who made that post about the next symbol of peace appearing?"

"Oh, of course. Don't worry, we already did some digging and we have a few leads. Where are you by the way?"

"I'm at home," you lie just in case something fishy is going on at the other side of the line.

"No, you're not. I'm at home and I couldn't find you anywhere."

You pause for a second and search Endeavour and Todoroki's faces for any guidance. Endeavour is gesturing to you to continue.

"Sorry, dad. I just wanted to be sure. I'm actually staying with one of my classmates, Todoroki, tonight."

"Oh, that's good. I noticed that you have your uniform and stuff at home. Would it be okay if I dropped by to say hi and give you your stuff then?"

"I'd love that! Thank you" you quickly reply without waiting for any confirmation.

"They live at ____ right? I'll be there soon."

"See you soon then, bye," you say as you hang up.

Suddenly you feel much lighter. You finally were able to talk to your dad and he'll bring you your school stuff.

"So your dad's coming here," Todoroki comments.

"Yes! I do hope it's okay," you indirectly ask Endeavour.

"Of course. You can stay here for as long as this symbol of peace nonsense takes to blow over," the man himself confirms. "Well, I need to catch up on some paperwork, so I'll be in my office. Let me know when your father arrives."

He gets up and leaves. You let out a sigh of relief and eat some more.

"Happy?" Todoroki asks, not convinced that celebrations are in order.

"You bet! Everything seems to be looking up. And I think your dad's right. People will forget eventually. And it's not like I can replace All Might as a first year high school student."

"So you do intend to replace him once you graduate?"

"It would be such a waste if I didn't, don't you think?" you ask tentatively.

"That's true. But why did you want to become a hero?" You are not sure what to reply. He quickly adds, "Do you even want to become a hero?"

You blink the second question away like an uncomfortable sensation. After a pause you admit, "I don't remember. But it seems like I have no choice." An even longer pause later you ask, "Are you happy?"

Todoroki also takes a moment to reflect. "I won, but it doesn't matter. He doesn't seem bothered about it. I was expecting some kind of a bigger reaction so I'd feel satisfied, but I'm not. I don't feel any different than before."
