You are sitting in an office. After a nap in the school's infirmary you recovered enough energy to be allowed to go home. Your dad came to pick you up. It was a silent ride to his office. He had to work still, just like your mom.

Now you're sitting at his table, focusing on eating your food. You know that your dad is sitting across from you but you do not look at him. It was a tough day. Thankfully he had a private office so there was no one else who could threaten to talk to you.

"How were the entrance exams?" he finally asks after you finished eating but continued staring at your plate.

You finally meet his gaze. His eyes look the same as always: tired yet earnest. You contemplate whether you should tell him all the good things or start with the good things and then finish with the bad or should you just get straight to the point or...

"I AM HERE!"

The door bursts open revealing none other than All Might himself.

"Ah, Young Tsukauchi!" he greets merrily. "How are you on this fine day?"

After it becomes clear that you will not answer that question your dad answers in your stead.

"She had her U.A entrance exams today but that's all I know."

"Ah, of course. So, how was it? I'm sure your dad would like to know as well."

You nod, indicating that you will answer.

"If that had been a real situation with civilians, I wouldn't have been able to save anyone. My power is not enough for that." I should just quit lingers in the air.

You look to your dad to see his reaction. He briefly looks at you, but then he looks at All Might. So you look at him too.

"You haven't told her yet?" All Might asks.

"No. Not at all," your father replies.

"Told what?"

"You see, Young Tsukauchi, ever since I got injured during the big incident a few years ago, I haven't been the same."

As he said that he shrunk to a skeletal version of himself. Even his hair got more raggedy.

"I've been looking for a successor for a while now."

"A successor?"

"Yes. My power was passed down to me, and I can also pass it down to whoever I see fit."

You feel your throat tighten on its own, expecting. The silence is deafening.

"And I think you'd make a wonderful successor, Young Tsukauchi, if you wish to inherit my power."

You look at All Might and then your dad. He seems supportive. All Might looks serious as well.

"I'll do it. If our powers combine, then I believe I will be able to become a great hero who can actually save people."

All Might inflates.

"That's the spirit, Young Tsukauchi," his voice booms in the tiny office. "I'll still be around to support and teach you, so don't go thinking you have to carry this weight alone."

"Thank you," you say with a smile, relieved.

"But is she ready?" your dad interrupts.

"Of course! I created that American Dream plan with this in mind."

"That's a relief."

"Now then," All Might says as he plucks a hair from his head, "eat this!"

"Eat... your hair?"

"You need to consume my DNA in order to inherit my power."

"Suuuuuure," you say as you take the strand and look at it. But then you decide to go for it and do your best to eat it.

"I don't feel any different though," you say after eating it and getting goosebumps thinking about what you just did.

"Don't you worry. Let's start training tomorrow, and by then you will be able to manifest it."

Everything happened so quickly you could hardly comprehend it.

It is a Sunday in April and your first day at U.A High. You arrive unreasonably early because your dad dropped you off on his way to work. You decide to wander inside the building and look for your classroom: 1-A.

The interior looks the same as on the day of the exam. Since you have so much free time you take the opportunity to wander around in the halls and try to make out the layout when a voice addresses you.

"Are you lost?"

You turn around and see a boy with white and red hair wearing a similar-style uniform to yours.

"Ah well I was just looking around but now that you mention it, I guess I really don't know where my class is."

"Since you're here on a Sunday and don't know where your class is, it'd seem we're both first years. We can walk to class together."

You agree and let him lead the way. Whoever he is, his walk is relatively slow. He must be feeling pretty relaxed, or confident, or both! you think.

The hallways are lit with big windows, enlivening the otherwise concrete interior. Eventually you stop at a gigantic door with "1-A" written on it. You're surprised for a solid five seconds before your mind realizes that what you're seeing is perfectly reasonable.

"It seems like we're both in 1-A," you say. The boy nods and pulls the door open for you.

You step into the empty classroom and start making your way to your seat. "Oh wow, there's no one here."

"Of course. You're early."

"You're early too!"

"Well I had no choice. I had to drive with my old man today."

"It sounds like you would have rather walked the whole way than come with him."

"No. I would have rather come by train."

Not knowing what to reply, you sit in silence. After a while people start pouring in. You recognize the blond boy who had sat next to you before the practical exam. Now he is sitting in front of you with his feet on the table.

You also recognize a tall boy with glasses and blue hair from the same time. He was the one who had asked the question about the 0-pointer, a huge robot you were helpless against. He starts berating the blonde almost immediately after arriving and only stops when you interfere to introduce yourself. That's when you realize that you had not asked the serious boy from earlier his name. Looking at the clock you only have a few minutes left and decide to do it later.

And the final person to arrive is the bubbly brunette who you failed to save during the entrance exam. A pang of guilt hits you, forcing you to look away. You swear to yourself never to let that situation repeat, especially now that you have the power of One For All.

People continue talking. Unexpectedly a gloomy figure appears in the doorway and surprises you all.

"You took too long to notice me and shut up. That's not good. You need to pay more attention."

The whole class becomes silent as the grave.

"Hi, I'm your homeroom teacher Aizawa Shota," he tiredly introduces himself. Holding up a pair of what could only be gym clothes he continues, "Put these on and meet me outside."
