Your insides turn as you feel another pair of hands grabbing you and pulling you away. Your whole weight shifts to rest on someone else, your head resting on their shoulder.

"Y/n, I won't let you," Shoto's voice says. "I have a fire here. I know you're exhausted but please do whatever you can to stay awake. You can, right? Restore your energy to stay awake but still rest to recover naturally?"

You open your eyes and see his hand holding a flame next to you. You breathe and concentrate, managing to restore enough energy to stand on your own.

"Are you injured?" Aizawa asks. Shoto is fine and you also shake your head. "Fine, go inside then to rest. It will get very busy out here."

You both head inside and Shoto leads you to the boys room while he goes over to his pile of bedding (the beds weren't made but everyone had folded their stuff to take up less space) and starts unpacking it. The moment he extinguishes his flame, you feel the weight of exhaustion crush over you, forcing you to your knees. "Shoto," you call out to him.

He rushes over, holding out his fire for you and you're able to feel better again. "Thank you."

"Sorry, I shouldn't have left you like that. But I'm trying to figure out a way to make this comfortable."

"Thank you, but as long as you're next to me, I'm fine."

He pulls you up and closer to his now made bed, asking you to lie down. You do and he does the same on the floor to your right, placing his flaming hand, palm up between you. Unsatisfied at his situation, you wriggle yourself more to the side of the mat, pulling him closer and onto the bed as well, lifting his hand to rest on your stomach while resting your hand in a hold of his wrist.

"It's nice and toasty now," you say, feeling the heat on the side of your hand. "Are you okay too?"

"Yeah," he says and you lie in silence. You're trying to figure out what Shoto must be thinking and why he's not saying anything to you. You need to talk.

"You know, if we don't talk, I might get bored and fall asleep because of that."

"Oh, yeah, of course," he says. After a pause he adds, "What do you want to talk about?"

"How about I tell you what happened at the mall?"

"With Shigaraki?"

"Yes. I'm sorry, Shoto. I really should have told you. I told myself that I'm sparing your feelings but actually I was just being inconsiderate. You were bound to find out that it happened and then the shock was worse than if I had just told you."

"But if you don't want to talk about it then you don't have to."

"No, I want you to know. I feel like you should know about it for some reason."

"Alright then."

You do your best to tell you everything that happened without leaving anything out. Shoto listens without interrupting you. You stare at the ceiling to hide your embarrassment.

"I should have gone with you," is his first reaction.

You turn your head towards him. "No, Shoto, don't blame yourself. In the end I'm fine and we gained some intel."

"But the villains could have captured you!"

"But they didn't! So it's fine. And that's why Iida knew about it and he got closer. Well, I was the one to ask him how he's doing and why he didn't order us to board the bus in two lines, but I never thought more about it."

"So you're not together?"

"No."

"That's good."

You turn to lie on your side, carefully adjusting his hand to lean on you. "It's good?"
