You regret asking for Shoto's opinion about your future as a hero. He will miss you and you will miss him, but being in the same industry is not enough to motivate you to become a hero. Besides, he still just sees you as an opponent to beat to prove something to his father. That's the reason he's being considerate towards you.

"Thanks for your input," you say as you straighten your back and take off the medal with the number 'one' engraved in it, "but I won't make my decision based on whether you'll miss me or not." You roll the ribbon around the medallion and place it neatly on the floor. "It's yours."

You stand up and go to your bags, rummaging for nothing in particular. You just don't want to look at him anymore.

"You're right, it would be unwise," Shoto agrees. From the corner of your eye you see that he is sliding open the oshiire, pulling out a futon.

"Is it okay if we share my room?"

A pause. "Of course."

As you continue (actually) looking through your bags, you realize that your father must have expected your reaction, considering what and how much he packed. Are you really just playing right into his hands?

Besides all your textbooks and the uniform, he has packed all the necessary products and a bunch of clothes. After a bit of searching you find a pair of pajamas and a toothbrush. You leave them with your other stuff to check on Todoroki's progress: two futons on the floor, comfortably apart.

Shoto shows you around the house and you begin preparing for bed, brushing your teeth and changing into your night clothes one after another. While Shoto is washing up, you also prepare your school bag for the next day.

After Shoto returns he sets an alarm, shuts off the lights and you both crawl between your respective sheets. Lying down, you turn on your side to look at him. He is doing the same. There's only you, him, and the moonlight.

The room is nice and quiet, only the cover of your duvet making a crisp rustling sound as you pull your arms out and adjust the pillow under your head. Your bare feet graze against the cold sheet.

"I'm sorry about earlier," he half-whispers. "That's probably not what you wanted to hear."

Not wanting him to beat himself up about it, you try to comfort him and half-whisper back, "I think that I've also told you things you didn't want to hear. But I think I understand your feelings towards Endeavour better now. Like why you don't want to use your left. I completely get it."

"But I liked that you had a different perspective that you weren't afraid to share. It felt like you were sincere too."

"Yeah, I really meant what I said, like why can't you get over it, but now I'm in a similar situation and I don't want to get over it and do like the person who wronged me wants to either." Before he can reply, you quickly add, "So you do think my dad has a point?"

"He has a point that would be valid if you were an adult. If you're not ready then he shouldn't force you. And he shouldn't have exposed you like that. I wonder what possessed him to do such a thing."

You smile, hoping he can see it in the dim room. "Thank you, Shoto." For everything lingers in the air.

He faintly smiles in response, or at least you think you saw his expression soften. "I think we should try to get some sleep. You look tired."

You agree and close your eyes after wishing him sweet dreams.

You're in your room at home, ready to go to school. You look through all your closets and drawers but can't find your school uniform anywhere. You can feel the time passing and know you'll be late if you don't leave soon, so you put on the only outfit you can take from your closet. You struggle to put it on, but once it's on, you see it's a tight red bodysuit with white, blue and golden lines. A thick cape trails behind you.
