Starr's POV
What is happening right now? One moment, I was bidding farewell, the next, being pulled to a hug by the last guy that I wish was hugging me and lastly, being pulled away by another person whom I think I like.
Am I dreaming? I still can't believe that Nate's here and these weird feelings for a guy I just met yesterday.
It's all so strange.
We drove out on the parking lot with an angry Nate, which is not good by the way, and annoyed Tyler, which looks like something that I don't want to name but yeah, you guess right; he looks jealous.
He looks so adorable when he's, you know, jealous. I smirked at that thought but then again, why would he get jealous? I don't care, let me have this moment; the guy I like looks annoyed because he was pissed by someone I know from the past. That looks like jealousy to me.
I can't help but feel overwhelmed by this and if I can see myself right now, I think that I'm as red as a ripe tomato but I don't care; I'm jumping with freaking joy on the inside.
I heard my phone beep in my purse which made me come back to the reality I am in.
Once I opened it, there were a lot of calls and texts from Celine and Stef.
"Gosh! I totally forgot!" I face palmed myself and called her back.
I felt Tyler look at me, I was about to tell him to excuse myself but the other lined answered, "Finally! I've been calling like forever!"
She yelled and I can't help but cringe at her tone so I held the phone far from my ear and placed it back once she finished talking. "Can you please not yell, Cel. I think I'm deaf already," I said with a chuckle.
"Oh! Stop being so dramatic!" she replied with lesser volume than before.
"So, is something wrong?"
"Straight to the point, I see," she chuckled, "well, Miss Ash, I was asked to tell you that you need to confirm if you're coming to the fashion show in Paris two weeks from now and if the new style has been approved."
"Yes, I'm going and then New York next month. Everything has been approved and I left it in my desk. It's the yellow folder. Please do book my flight and the hotel room. Four Seasons, as usual. Book two rooms. And please send me about the sales report for the days I've been gone."
I glanced at the handsome guy beside me while waiting for my assistant's reply and as I can see, he looks confused, I started to open my mouth to ask him what's bothering him, hoping it's not this call, but the other line spoke up, again.
"Oh, okay. Yellow folder, plane ticket and hotel room. Is that all, Miss?"
"Nope," I said popping the 'p' sound and continued with a smile plastered on my face. "Do you have a passport, Cel?"
"Ahmmm.. Yeah.?" She replied sounding unsure.
"Book two tickets, two rooms. Yours and mine."
She squealed and if I'm not mistaken, I think I can hear heels tapping the floor continuously like someone's jumping around. I can't help but giggle at her, "Stop jumping, you're gonna break those red plumps!"
And I was right, the tapping stopped, "How'd you know I was wearing those? Right, never mind. Okay, then, is that all, Miss Ash?" she replied but I can hear the glee in her voice.
"Yes, that's all. I'll call you when I come back to Sydney. And, Celine, take the week off after you finish the report I asked."
And, again, there was another squeal as I expect. "Thank you, Miss Ash! I'll send it tomorrow."
"Very well. Have a great night and thank you, Cel," and with that, I ended the call.
I took in a huge breath and sighed in relief. Work mode: gone!
Next thing I know is I opened Steffi's text message. I'm still a bit mad but spending a day away from her somewhat eased it so I think she's off the hook, for now.
There were a number of messages from her which consisted of 'I'm sorry' and 'I love you' but one message struck the most; the message that took all the madness away.
From: Steffi Sky
I miss my bestfriend. :(
I smiled at this and started to tear up until I heard Tyler clear his throat which made me face him.
"Ugheem," I raised my eyebrow and waited for his reply.
"So, where you heading?" he finally continued.
"Somewhere," I said with a teasing sound.
He looked at me pointedly and smiled anyways, "Ahm... About what happened earlier..."
He started but I cut him before he could finish his sentence, "Don't worry about it. It's alright."
He faced me and looked straight to my soul, yeah; I'm exaggerating, and smiled which made me smile back.
There was moments of silence before he spoke again, "Thanks for today, Sunny."
My heart beats fast every time he calls me that but I like it. Sunny. It's ironic that he calls me Sunny and my name's Starr. You know that the sun is the star at the center of the solar system and...
Nerd alert! Fine, I won't continue; Bitter brain.
"No problem," I replied with a smile plastered on my face.
He gave me a toothy grin, he looks so cute, and continued, "We're here."
He parked my car to where it was located earlier and walked me towards my door. It was 7:10 in the evening; we arrived just in time for dinner.
I could smell Aunt Anna's cooking from here. Delisioso!
"So, wanna come in for dinner?" I said breaking the silence between us.
He looked shocked at first but in a millisecond, his eyes gleamed with excitement. I guess he loves food as much as I do. "Sure."
I opened the door, invited him in with the take out boxes at hand and went straight to the kitchen. From afar, I could see four viands with rice, mashed potato, veggie salad and others. It was like we're having a celebration.
When we got nearer, I could see that the entire table has been set up.
What's going on?? My mind has been thinking of reasons why.
"Sweetie, you're home! And you've brought a friend," a familiar female voice echoed the kitchen.
As I turned around, I saw the person who gave birth to me by the stairs, "M-mom?"
Oh, this is gonna be A-W-K-W-A-R-D!
