Tyler’s POV

Can you hear that? That’s my heart; it’s beating so fast right now that I might go into shock.

I had to stop staring at her. But she looks so beautiful and sexy and cute and.. God! I sound like a fanning little girl.

I had to stop this tension so I said the first thing that popped to my mind.

“Hi! I’m Tyler,” trying to sound breezy.

She stared at my hand for what seems like hours until she finally grabbed and shook it with that cute smile.

There’s really something about her that I can’t point at. She looks familiar that I can’t help but wonder if where I saw her from.

Realization came to me when I saw those big brown eyes; she was the girl I saw earlier today.

“Sunny,” I said my thoughts out loud interrupting her.

She raised her eyebrow while it crinkled her forehead with confusion shown over her face. She looks so damn cute.

“I’m sorry, you were saying,” I continued.

With the sun still shining above us, I could still see the slight blush in her cheeks. “Ahmm.. I said, nice meeting you Tyler. I’m Starry but you can call me Star,” she repeated. She has this cute soft voice yet sounded sexy, too.

I smiled and noticed that I was still holding her hand so I immediately let go and scratched the back of my neck with a shy smile. “Oh! Nice meeting you, too.”

And there it goes again, that cute blush that tinted her cheek.

We were silent again under the blazing heat of the sun so I offered her to come inside the cabin for some shade and snacks.

I don’t know how I managed to make her say yes but when I mentioned ‘snacks’, her eyes lit up and she nodded with a big grin.

Walking side by side, I offered to carry her surfboard but she refused. I insisted but she still refused and said with an appreciative smile, “I can handle this so you don’t really have to worry. It’s light, anyways.”

Finally giving up, I lead her to the coffee table at the terrace. I went to the kitchen to prepare some sandwiches, orange juice and to cook bacon and fries. Looking for a tray in the kitchen cabinets, I glanced at her direction and noticed that she was dripping wet.

She must be cold, you idiot. I thought as I quickly searched my room for some extra towels. As soon as I found one, I went to the kitchen, placed everything in the tray and found my way to her.

Once I placed the tray on the table in front of her, she licked her bottom lip signaling that I did a good job in inviting her in.

One point for me. I thought jokingly.

I smiled and offered her the towel I was holding which she gladly accepted.

“Thank you,” she said but continued, “for this” gesturing at the towel around her “and for that” pointing at the food with cannibalistic eyes.

“You’re welcome. Shall we?” I said with a smirk.

She giggled and replied, “we shall.”

And with that, we ate our food in comfortable silence. I looked at her as I ate my sandwich; she looks so gorgeous and funny when she eats. She’s been stuffing a lot of fries in her mouth and then eating her bacon in adoration. She devoured her sandwich like it was her last meal and ate fries again.

I love her appetite. She’s the type of girl that you’d love to invite for over for dinner and just pig out together.

She’s different; she doesn’t care about the calories that might ruin her sexy figure, she challenges herself in bigger waves and she jumps around like it’s the only way to live life.

One amazing sunny girl.

“So, are you Mrs. Cuevas son? I’ve never seen you around here and you don’t look Spanish,” she said breaking my trance.

Swallowing the food in my mouth, I replied, “No, I know her from a friend and asked if I could rent this place for a while and fortunately, she agreed.”

“Oh. She doesn’t come here often. Just on summers and a few Christmases. But other than that, she lives in the city. She calls this place her ‘Getaway place’,” she said giggling while still nibbling some more fries.

I laughed at her and replied, “I call it paradise.”

She looked so fragile as she stared into the ocean for a while and then she looked at me with glistening eyes. “It’s heaven to me,” she said with a smile.

We stared into each other’s eyes for a moment before we faced the beautiful body of water, again, as we watched the sunset. I can’t help but glance at her with a small smile on my lips as she shines with the last light from the sun.

She was right; it was heaven and she one of its angels. My sunny beautiful angel.

We chatted for a little longer before she decided to head home. It was a bit cold so I lend her one of my shirts that ended hanging on her thighs.

Walking to the direction of her home side by side, I glanced at her and smirked.

She looked good in my shirt. I thought crazily.

She faced me with a slight blush as if knowing what I was thinking and looked straight ahead, again. It’s so silent that all we could hear was the hitting of the waves in the shore and the sound of the crickets but it was comfortable; we shared a comfortable silence.

I stopped my tracks as she started to climb up the stairs. Oh her third step, she looked at me with embarrassment written over her beautiful face before she said, “uhmm. Ty, I kinda left my board at your villa.”

Ty? I like that. I thought before I replied.

“Oh, right. I totally forgot about that. It’s okay, though. I’ll drop it tomorrow, if you’d like?” I asked hoping.

“I’d like that,” she said with a small smile. After a few seconds, she continued pointing up the stairs, “I have to go, it takes about 36 steps and I’m still on my third.”

I giggled at her statement as she slightly giggled, too, but you can see the exhaustion in her eyes so I nodded, “Don’t stumble, Starr.”

She smirked and headed up to her house. I walked to the villa with her still playing on my mind with a smile that was permanently plastered on my face.

Reaching the villa, I grabbed her board and placed it on the board cabinet near the mini bar.

After cleaning and tidying up everything, I closed the doors and headed to my room. Finally, I lay down the bed after taking a long relaxing bath. I didn’t bother to eat dinner for I was really full from earlier so I decided to sleep.

It was one hell of a day; driving in the middle of the night for nine hours straight, enjoying the ocean for a couple of hours and talking to a wonderful girl to end my day.

Day one was great and hopefully the next few days will be greater.

Starry. What a beautiful name for a beautiful girl.

I closed my eyes and the tiredness took over my body as I went to sleep in an instant.
