Girl

Modern girl.

I see toys.

I scream for it.

This picture is for grandma.

Place it on her fridge.

She's proud.

Out with friends.

We see cute boys.

Write in our journals.

Rage on high.

Smack a hater silly.

Tampon in the toilet.

Disgusted with everything around me.

Selfies and pics,

Let's have a good time.

Tears and tissues,

Don't call me for nothing.

Heart as soft as cotton,

I'll hold you

And lessen your burden.

Mind as sharp as iron,

I can see your errors

Before they happen.

Sashay in a red silky dress,

You grow weak

And I steal all your money.

My belly grows big,

This is the beginning of our family.

A human with eight arms,

I become a super woman.

Bounce back.

Call up the girls.

I see a handbag I like.

I gasp.

I snap a picture of it to grandma.

"Should I get it?"

The cycle continues.

New objects.

New plot lines.

Same spirit,

Different age.

Forever the female.

We seem crazy,

But we're perfectly sane.
