I'm no swimmer.
I cannot lie.
I don't know why I even bother
To dress in swim wear.
The waters wait for me to enter.
I'm tempted, so I let it come to me.
I rest at its bay.
The sea grows tired of me and retracts.
It takes back its sands.
I wish I wasn't afraid.
I want to belong.
If I tried to go in, what if I never return
Or come out the same as before?
What will my new labels be?
Will my guardian angel recognize me?
Just sitting on the shore seems safe than sorry.
Though the crystal waters still call me.
Sirens?
Angels?
Is that you, God?
Should I trust this feeling?
The sands return
But quickly leave again.
I come in closer
But grip on the shore.
Please don't let me go.
The waters suck their teeth.
The breeze turns colder.
If only I was braver.
