chapter nineteen.

jia freed herself from the nurse's grip and ran up to elisa, crying as she hit her chest: "wake up why won't you wake up," she cried out. after a few seconds, she gave up and just took elisa's body into her arms, hugging her whilst she was still laying down; "get up, please."

all of a sudden, the heart monitor started beeping in contrast to the flat line there was before.

"huh, the monitor!" the nurse exclaimed in shock. as a result, the doctors rushed to elisa.

"hurry up and get ready," one of the doctors said as they put an oxygen mask on elisa, starting chest compressions once again after jia backed away slightly.

"normal! she's back to normal!" the doctor said.

⏱️ : 2 hours later.

the doctors gave jia some scrubs to change into after they treated elisa. the agent sat beside her client at all times though. she was looking down but her attention was caught by a doctor who walked in, so by instinct, she quickly stood up.

"are you alright?" the doctor asked.

"ah yes i am," jia continued, "i'm sorry for earlier, thank you."

"it was you who made the miracle happen i think i should thank you."

"she's not in danger anymore is she?"

"it's a shock but she's not. her limbs and internal organs are all fine. however, the problem is her brain. her heart stopped for about 15 minutes so we can't dismiss the possibility of brain damage." jia's eyes widened as she looked at the doctor: "we don't want you to worry but from now we need a real miracle. i should get going now though i just came to check on you."

"ah okay thank you," jia smiled a little as the doctor left. she sighed and sat back down next to elisa - watching her. "it's the first time i've seen you up this close." but, an eyelash on elisa's face caught jia's attention.

"hmm?" the younger said to herself as she carefully took the eyelash off the latter's face. although she was asleep, jia carried on talking: "elisa, you know, if you take a fallen eyelash, blow it into the wind and make a wish, it'll come true."

she paused for a few seconds after this, squeezing her eyes shut as she blew the eyelash into the air, "please let her wake up and not suffer any pain anymore," she opened one eye to check if the other was awake yet and when she found she wasn't, she sighed and opened both.

"i made a wish for you, you have to wake up now."

belle unlocked the door and walked through it, surprised when she saw lila sat on the couch alone. "lila? where's your grandma?"

"kitchen."

"and aunt elisa?"

"she's not come to visit yet."

"she hasn't come yet?" belle asked in reply, "she didn't answer her phone either," the girl said as she went and sat next to the 6-year-old, "i wonder what happened," belle continued.

lila tilted her head in confusion, "has she not made up with that agent aunt yet?"

the nutritionist's eyes widened as she turned to lila, "elisa fought with her agent?" lila nodded in response.

🗓️ : the next morning.

jia squinted her eyes which were adjusting to the bright hospital light after her sleep. she lifted her head that was resting on elisa's stomach, stretching her back that was hurting due to the wooden chair she was sat on.

the agent looked over to the taller, frowning when she saw she still wasn't awake. the girl gulped and slowly put her hand on the other's chest. when she still felt no sign of breathing, she wiped one of the tears threatening to fall out of her eyes and nervously put her index finger in front of elisa's lips.

elisa's eyes slowly opened due to the contact - causing jia's eyes to widen and quickly pull her finger away. the younger sighed in relief: "i was so scared you weren't going to wake up, thank you." jia smiled.

"why are you crying..?" elisa weakly asked.
