I woke up when a hand gently touched my cheek.

My eyelids flickered open, revealing a sight I had never witnessed before: Bada's face, on the edge of tears, looking deeply at me with an unfamiliar vulnerability.

I sat up on the bed and look at her. "Andito ka na pala. I'm sorry; Hindi ako nakapagluto, Bada. There's no food left in the fridge.
Kumain ka na b—"

I let out a surprise gasp when she unexpectedly grab my arm and pull me into a tight embrace.

What happened next completely left me in awe when she speak into my ears, "I thought you left me!"

I could feel Bada's body trembling as though she were filled with fear.

Bada? In so much fear?

A person like her?

She took a step back, tears streaming down her face and she wipe them away.

Is she crying?
Totoo ba 'tong nakikita ko?

"Ba—Bada, okay ka lang ba?"

She didn't respond to my question. Instead, she settled down beside me. She purposefully avoided making eye contact, as if she wants to hide her face from me.

She tried to speak softly, "the door was open, you could have escaped... and yet you chose to stay. W—were you crying?" she uttered.

I glanced at the wall right in front of Bada's bed. There was an abstract painting there and I fixed my gaze on it before responding.

"I did," I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair.

"Ewan ko ba. Kahit ilang beses kong pagsabihan ang sarili ko na dapat gawin ko 'yung tama, 'yung alam kong makakabuti para sa'kin... pero heto ako, si tanga! Talagang mahal kita, Bada," I smiled bitterly.

Naramdaman kong biglang napalingon sa direksyon ko si Bada and this time ako naman 'yung nag-iwas ng tingin.

I shrugged after a few seconds... and then I toom the courage to turn to face her.

Our eyes met.

My eyes starts to water as I open my lips and confess, "I am willing to die for you, Bada."

"If you wish me to grab a knife and carve my skin, I'd do so."

"If you tell me to stab myself or cut my wrist, why not?"

"I don't care if I'd go to hell for sacrificing my soul for you."

"That's how much I love you."
