Chapa's POV:
I seriously cannot believe it's already been three weeks since I found out that my whole family is moving away. My mom started her new job in about a week, so that meant we had to leave early in order to get everything settled in time. I've tried to make those three weeks last as long as possible, but it hasn't been easy.
In every single one of those days, all I could think about was the fact I kept moving one day closer to leaving this city. I really didn't wanna leave Swellview, especially Mika. Her and I have such a good relationship, and I did not want it to end so soon.
Her and I shared a really emotional hug before I went home, and everyone else joined in. I've tried everything I could to keep this moving day from happening, but all my attempts failed. The moving day was happening, no matter what.
I had trouble sleeping the night before because so many thoughts were racing through my mind, driving me insane. I was already in a bad mood when my mom woke me up at 5 this morning.
Alejandra: *sing-song* "Chapa, dear, time to wake up!"
Me: *groans* "Alright, alright, I'm up."
Alejandra: "Better get packing, we have a lot of stuff. I'll meet you and everyone else downstairs."
My mom leaves my room and heads downstairs. I have to basically push myself out of my bed. I was not ready to get up this early. I head to the bathroom in my room to freshen up one final time, and as I was doing so, I kept talking to myself in the mirror.
Me: *to myself* "Why? Why did this have to happen? Why couldn't my mom have gotten a job here? Does it seriously have to be all the way in Florida? It's always so hot there, and the sun just doesn't really do it for me."
I eventually fix up my hair as I look around the empty bathroom. After I'm done in there, I get dressed. I put on a black top, a black shirt, a choker, dark pants with a belt, black socks, and of course, black boots. I start to pack up the rest of the stuff in my room into a bunch of empty boxes.
I push all the boxes out to the hallway as I look inside the empty room for the last time, and I shut off the light. I start to head downstairs with each box and I put them in the moving truck. After I was putting my stuff in the truck, my mom and dad began to put their stuff in. My sister and I are sitting on our porch steps while they were doing so.
Me: "I really wish we didn't have to leave Swellview."
Sage: "Same, it's gonna be hard to adjust to a new life in a different state."
Me: "Especially trying to find a new friends."
I start to tear up, my sister notices and put her hand on my shoulder.
Sage: "Hey, I know your friends mean a lot to you, and I know you mean a lot to them, too, and even though it's hard to leave them, they'll still remember you."
I nod as I begin to shed more tears as Sage pulls me into a hug. I was able to calm myself down a bit, and I hugged her back. After a few seconds, we both let go.
Me: "Thank you, I needed that."
Sage: "Sisters have to look out for each other, right?"
Me: *chuckles* "Right."
Alejandro: "Alright, kids. Time to go."
Well, this was it, it was officially time to leave Swellview. My sister and my mom both get in the front of the moving truck as my dad and I get into the car. Once we were settled in, we headed down the driveway and onto the main road.
As we got on the highway, I kept thinking about how the team was gonna be able to handle fighting crime without me, and I kept thinking the most about Mika. She's the most beautiful girl I've ever known, and now, it seems like I'll have to start all over, which was not what I was prepared to do.
About an hour into the trip, we stopped to get some breakfast, and I had to try and myself awake enough to be able to eat. A few hours after that, we got lunch. Eventually, I fell asleep in the car, and before I knew it, we were in Florida. I woke up when I felt the car stop.
Me: *dazed* "We're here already?"
Alejandro: "Yep, welcome to Florida. This is your Captain speaking, we have reached our destination."
Me: "Please never do that again."
Alejandro: "Sorry, dear. I can't help but do stuff like that."
I basically had to fully wake myself up before I got out of the car, which I eventually did. We got our stuff out of the moving truck and brought it to the inside of our new house. It took us some time to get everything settled in, but eventually, we finished.
Alejandra: "Alrighty, now that we got everything settled, what say we all go out to dinner to celebrate our first night in a new state?!"
Alejandro: "That's a great idea, honey! How about it, kids?"
Me: "I could eat."
Sage: "Yeah, me, too."
We all went out to a nice restaurant for the celebration, and while my mom and dad were talking about all the "fun" things they could do here in Florida before my mom started her new job, I was doing my best not to fall asleep again. After we were done eating, we all headed out to the beach.
Oh, I forgot to mention this: we have a house on the beach, which sounds fun, I guess. Anyway, there weren't many people there, considering it was pretty late at night. I took my boots and socks off because I didn't want sand to get in them, and I didn't want my boots to get wet.
The wet sand actually felt pretty good underneath my bare feet, but it was kinda hard to walk because I kept sinking a little bit with each step I took, and the water kept moving up and was making me lose my balance a little bit, but it still felt pretty good.
After some time, we headed back up to the deck, and I washed my feet off so I could my boots and socks back on. After that, we headed back to our beach house and started to settle in for the night. As everyone turned out the lights, I got comfortable in my new bed, and eventually, I was asleep.
