Chapa's POV:
After Mika's surgery was over, the doctor came and told us we could see her, but to not make a lot of noise while she gets her rest. I was just happy that the surgery went well. Eventually, Mika did wake up, and she immediately smiled when she saw all of us.
Me: "Hey, there, you feeling any better?"
Mika: "Well, the headaches are finally gone, so I guess so. But I can feel where the stitches are, so I should probably be careful."
Miles: "Well, all that matters is that you're doing well."
Bose: "Yeah, we were worried about you."
Ray: "We all were, but I seriously hope you never have to go through this again."
Mika: "Thanks, everyone. You all mean so much to me."
Mika's POV:
Chapa got closer to my bed and took my hand. I look at her and we both smile at each other. The doctor then comes in.
Doctor: "Hey, look who's awake. How are you feeling?"
Me: "Well, I'm glad the headaches are gone, so I'm feeling better."
Doctor: "Wonderful to hear. However, we will have to keep you here for a few more days until you've made a full recovery, and we'll eventually get the chemo started to make sure this never happens again, in order for this to work, you'll have to come back here every Wednesday for each round."
Me: "Do what you have to do, doctor."
The doctor nods and exits the room.
Chapa: "Is there anything we can get for you?"
Me: "Nah, I'm good. I'm just happy you're all here."
Chapa's POV:
After a few days of being in the hospital, it was time for Mika to go home. As I was packing our stuff, I sat on the bed with her.
Me: "You ready to finally head back home?"
Mika: "Yeah, but it's gonna be hard to adjust to the fact that I have to come back here every Wednesday."
Me: "I understand, but hey, at least it's Friday."
Mika: "That's true, and I'm just glad to finally be in the same room as you again."
Me: "Aww, you're so sweet."
Mika giggles as she and I lean in for another kiss, and we break apart after a few seconds. Just then, Miles and Bose show up in the room.
Bose: "You two ready to go?"
Mika: "Yeah, we're ready."
Mika and I gather our stuff and exit the room. We head back to where Ray, Herm and Angela were waiting. We then head out the main entrance. Luckily, we weren't far from the hospital, and the walk was rather nice. Ray and Bose head back to S.W.A.G. while the rest of us head back to the Macklin house. When Mika and I head into our room for the first time in a while, we set our stuff down on our beds, and ourselves.
Mika: "It feels so good to be back home. Did I miss anything while I was out of it?"
Me: "No, actually. There surprisingly hasn't been a crime the whole time we were at the hospital."
Mika: "I guess the criminals are getting tired of fighting us."
Me: "Probably, but all that matters is you're doing better."
Mika: "Aww."
I got onto Mika's bed and we eventually fell asleep while hugging each other. We were so happy to be back together in the same room.
