Yn's eyes widened with fear as she hesitated for a moment before complying with his order. She turned and, with trembling hands, locked the office door. Slowly, she turned back to face Jungkook, who had closed the distance between them.
Her heart raced, and her gaze darted away, unable to meet his intense stare.
Jungkook's voice remained firm and commanding as he spoke again. "Look at me." His words left Yn with no choice but to meet his penetrating gaze, her apprehension growing with each passing moment.
As Yn met Jungkook's intense gaze, her heart pounded loudly in her chest. The weight of the situation bore down on her, and her voice quivered as she spoke. "What do you want, Jungkook?"
Jungkook's gaze didn't waver as he continued to scrutinize Yn. Instead of questioning her about being late for work, his voice was low and demanding as he inquired, "Where were you last night?"
Yn swallowed hard, her mind racing for a suitable response. She couldn't let Jungkook know what had transpired – the horrifying incident and Taehyung's timely intervention. She needed to protect herself.
With a racing heart, Yn tried her best to keep her composure. She knew she had to hide the truth at all costs, not just to protect herself but also because she feared how Jungkook might react.
"I was just out with a friend, Jungkook," she replied, her voice trembling slightly despite her efforts to sound convincing.
Jungkook's expression remained inscrutable, but he didn't press further on the matter. Instead, he shifted his focus to another point of concern. "With Taehyung?"
She sensed the suspicion in his inquiries, and it sent a shiver down her spine. Did he suspect something had happened between her and Taehyung?
Yn continued, "We didn't do anything wrong."
His gaze bore into her, skepticism clouding his eyes. Yn knew he was an expert at reading people, and the fear of slipping up weighed heavily on her.
"Yn, I need to know the truth," he demanded, his voice softer but still unwavering. "Tell me exactly where you were last night."
Yn's heart sank. She knew she had to stick to her story, even though it felt like a betrayal to Jungkook. "I promise, Jungkook, nothing happened. We just talked and then parted ways."
She hoped her words would be enough to satisfy him, but she couldn't shake the feeling that Jungkook's suspicions ran deeper.
