Pov Gustav:

_______________

My Last 3 days were... productive... I think.

Today is September 7, 2019 and it is 11:15 pm.

Allow me to summarize the last few days:

Wake up -> work -> research -> few hours of sleep.

Yes, after catching up on my lost sleep, I got back to my routine.

On Thursday night I caught up on lost sleep, and on Friday I returned to my search.

I went back at the library, with notebook and pencil.

Where I started to delve deeper into research into arcana.

Allow me to summarize what I learned:

You know the ring I'm wearing that makes me feel proud and like a genius?

I discovered that it is the equivalent of using wire to wire your house.

It might work, but it's only a matter of time before everything goes wrong.

In short, it's a miracle I haven't lost a finger yet or my disguise has simply fallen apart.

So after a few hours of research I managed to make a list of things I need to make a more stable disguise.

For the ideal disguise I need:

- acquire necessary energy

- store energy

- use energy efficiently

- safely manage energy

- protect energy

I need a way to draw the right energy in the right quantity and also store it in case I can no longer supply it for some reason and I need to protect it so it doesn't simply get lost in the environment or for another reason.

So I started planning my next version of disguise.

And at the same time, I discovered how the grimoire is supposed to work.

There are three possibilities:

1 - the book accumulates energy from the environment.

2 - the book generates energy.

2 - the book only manipulates energy.

But nowI have I definitely need the book.

But I can't just pick up the book in the middle of the day.

I don't have time to do this during the day due to my work and if someone comes to me with the book I will be in trouble.

So, I had to do the most stupidly simple and reckless thing I could do.

*This won't end well* - I think as I stare at the door to Stolas's room.

*Well... it's now or never!* - I decide while breathing and holding the door handle.

I left my shoes in my room, wearing just my black t-shirt (the one I got from Josh's house) and jeans.

I planned this in advance as I picked up some cooking oil yesterday and during the day today I put it on the bedroom hinges.

The sound of the doorknob turning seemed deafening in the dark of the palace and when I finally worked up the courage, I slowly pushed the door open.

The sliding of the high-quality hinges and the oil I added earlier today made an almost imperceptible sound as the door opened.
