Cecilia's eyes fluttered while still closed, rejoicing at the feeling of doing at least something right in her life.

Messing with her own magical core and exploring the bond she had with Regulus felt very similar to physical pleasure and it was suspiciously easy to access. What wasn't as easy as she wished, of course, was understanding and using it. The connection between them was easy to find and feel, even easier to feel comfortable within it - to Cecilia, finding the magical cores bonded by their soul had been as simple as focusing on a limb, like Mister Kreisler had told her to do in the letter that Snape had brought to them. From finding the connection, all that she had to do was find the double edges magical core and learn to better control it, just like Snape's book had told her to do.

That last part was the one that she didn't seem to manage as easily as she had been doing with the first one.

Her magic wasn't all that ideal to control.

"It's too much," she complained at the attic that she, Regulus and Sirius had locked themselves in to try to help her. "It's like reaching for something inside of water. It's further and deeper than it looks. It's like my hand just doesn't reach it."

"You just –" started Sirius.

"If you say 'focus' one more time, I'll bark at you," Cecilia warned.

Sirius looked politely chastised, but Regulus was smirking about it.

"I can feel you poking around," Regulus said as if that would give her more energy to keep going. "It feels a lot more physical than it did before. I can feel your mind as well."

Cecilia raised her eyebrows.

"In what sense?"

"It's like your thoughts are mine as well, but in the very back of my mind, like some sort of subconscious," he explained. "It's like our mind is one, but I can't hear you all too well, but I can pin-point where your mind starts and mine ends."

Good. Then she wasn't overdoing it and getting too much magic away from the well of magic that they shared. That made her feel good enough to make her smile at him, until one memory reached her.

"Does it feel like that one day with Dumbledore?" she asked.

Sirius frowned.

"What day with Dumbledore?" Sirius asked.

"Dumbledore invaded my mind during one of the meetings of the Order, but Regulus somehow pushed him back and blocked him off for me," Cecilia explained.

"That's grand!" Sirius said, eyes widening more in surprise than excitement.

"Well, I don't know how I did it though," Regulus said. "I don't know how to do it again, let alone on purpose. It's useful, yes, but it's not constant. I'm a good enough Occlumens, but I cannot say that my Legilimency is remarkable."

Sirius stopped for a whole second, turning to look at his brother looking between amused and bothered by what Regulus' said. He looked slightly annoyed with the idea of Dumbledore simply invading a young girl's mind for no reason at all.

"You lied to Lord Voldy-No-Nose-Mort himself in his face, baby brother," Sirius said, rolling his eyes. "A good Occlumens doesn't survive that. A good Occlumens does not stop Dumbledore from invading his girlfriend's mind."

A soft blush spread to Regulus' high cheekbones, never having been used to Sirius' compliments. Cecilia smiled to herself, glad to be able to see the interaction between the two brothers when she had already seen far too many fights between them.
