THIS CHAPTER WAS A VERY HEAVY ONE TO WRITE AND IT WAS VERY SENSITIVE TO ME, SO IT TOOK ME SOME TIME TO WRITE IT, SO I'M SORRY IF IT COULD'VE BEEN WRITTEN BETTER OR FASTER, BUT I TOOK THIS A BIT TOO PERSONALLY AND STARTED CRYING :)
ANYWAYS, HERE YOU GO.
TW: MUMS.
The song was starting to take form under Cecilia's hands, finally, and though she mistook of key of the piano for another and the note made Regulus wince, she couldn't stop smiling in pride of something that she had never done before. Alongside her fingers working through the white and black, her voice hummed the tune of Pela Luz dos Olhos Teus very lowly as she followed the rhythm she knew.
"The song is in D, darling," Regulus said, as if that reminder would help her (who knew nothing of piano) somehow.
Her fingers stopped.
"What?" she asked.
"Nothing," he dismissed, smiling at her. "Keep playing, it's really good."
"Don't lie, it's a bad thing to lie to your girlfriend," she warned. "I'm butchering it and I'm well aware of it."
"Oh, please!" he laughed. "You just need a few classes."
"Do you know why I take these classes?" she asked. He sat beside her on the piano bench, leaning in. "Because I like your hands on me and I like you breathing on my neck. I like spending time with you and this way I can be very close and still annoy you by talking myself to oblivion."
"You are very good at talking," he complimented her.
Even though normally he would totally be annoyed by someone talking to him even when they were supposed to be paying attention, he thought it was endearing coming from her. Even though in other people 'talking too much' would be a fault, he knew that he liked it about her and that scared him – Cecilia was changing him so easily and without trying to do anything.
He leaned towards her, capturing her lips with his. His hand caressed her face gently, even though he wanted something much deeper and much faster and –
"Oh, I'm sorry," said a squeaky voice.
Regulus, surprised by someone, got up from the bench quickly to get in front of Cecilia, not wanting her to have the same reaction that she had when Remus had walked in on them (in a much worse situation), but this time around Cecilia didn't have any reaction but stare at Molly Weasley.
"What happened?" Cecilia asked. "You're pale."
"Oh, hum... Dear, your..." Molly stuttered. "Your mother is in our house and she wants to talk to you. She's expecting you right now and she's angry that you're not living with us. I thought that you had told her."
"Why would I do that? She never asked me anything, either," Cecilia said, getting up from the bench carefully.
To anyone, she just wasn't in a hurry, but to Regulus, Cecilia looked as nervous as he felt at the idea of meeting Adriana Salazar for the first time. He didn't want to see that woman while knowing everything that she had put on Cecilia' head and the terrifying idea of her not being a good person when Adriana had been the one to choose to sleep with another men. It wasn't Cecilia fault that she was the fruit of that infidelity.
"I'll go with you," Regulus warned.
"Don't," Cecilia warned him once more. "You shouldn't be anywhere near that woman."
"She's your mother, I might as well meet her," Regulus mocked. He wanted to confront her, not meet her.
Cecilia felt like saying something and insisting him to stay away, she didn't want him to be a victim of her painful words as well, after all she was used to it and could deal, but Regulus would be upset for her. Still, she knew that there was nothing she could say that would make him stay away from the trouble she was walking into.
