You hopped out of bed, changed, then rushed towards the door. You really wanted to be the one to surprise the other today! Sure, the first time he surprised you, it was a surprise to the both of you. But yesterday he surprised you! So today you were going to get him back!
"Hold on just a moment, Y/n." Your grandmother stopped you. "Before you go disappearing again, I have a few items I'd like you to purchase for me." She said with a smile, while handing you a list.
You smiled back and nodded, while mentally groaning. "It's just a few items, and shouldn't take long. Maybe your new friend can help." She said as if she heard your mental groan.
You stared at her with wide eyes. Does she know about the Monkey King?! "You didn't think I noticed how long you'd be outside recently? I may be old, but I not dumb." Your grandmother said with a smile. "Now, go fetch me those items, and bring your friend along! Be sure to return by the lastest is 11:00pm. No later, or you'll be grounded for a week." She said with a smile.
You sighed. You were surprised that she figured out you made a new friend, but relieved to know she didn't know who, or rather what, it was. "Okay Grandma. I'll be back before 11!" You said, before you left.
When you arrived at the tree, you climbed up into it and hid. Your plan to surprise him was to hide in the tree then swing upside down, startling him. You used to do it all the time when you were younger. This should be easy!
About five minutes later, you heard him land by the tree. You swung down and surprised him alright. But the branch you were on snapped at the same motion!
You screamed as he started to fall. Just before you hit the ground, Sun Wukong caught you. "Are you okay?!" He asked. His face showed surprise, from earlier, and worry, from your fall.
You gave a small smile. "Yep. Thanks for catching me!" You said, embarrassed. "Your welcome. May I suggest not doing that, again?" He suggested. He stood you up.
You chuckled awkwardly. "I- I got to run some errands. Would you like to come with me?" You asked. It was awkward. Really awkward. He just saved you, and now you were asking him to help you with something else.
"Sure. What do we need to get?" He answered. You pulled out the list, and he snatched it right out of your hand. He read the list and smirked. "I know the best place to get these." Wukong declared.
"Really?" You asked him. He nodded, flipped, and landed on a cloud. He reached out a hand. "Wanna ride?" He offered. You hesitated. Ride a cloud? Is that even possible? "Okay~ Agh!" You squealed, startled by the speed.
You clung tightly to the flying monkey, and buried your face in his back. Though you couldn't see it, his face turned bright red when you did that.
"Kay, we're here." You heard the Monkey King say. You peeked your head around, and gauked at the sight before you. "Wow!" You whispered. Wukong smiled.
"Welcome to Flower Fruit Mountain! The best place to harvest fresh fruits! Other than your farm." Wukong boasted. "Monkey King!!!" Another voice yelled.
"Where did you go? I've been searching for you everywhere! You said you were going to train me- Who dat?" A young adult asked.
The young man had an orange jacket over a white tee, red sweat pants with a white stripe down the side, and a red headband tied around his head.
"Hey, MK. I- Yeah~ Sorry bud. I kinda forgot. I'm also a little busy. Gotta get some stuff with my new friend, Y/n, here." Monkey King explained to the young adult.
"Wait. Maybe he can help, too." You suggest to the Monkey King. "Not everything on here is fruit. MK, right?" You asked the boy. MK nodded.
"I'm Y/n. Would you mind helping me with my groceries?" You asked again. "Sure! I'd love to help a new friend!" MK said, suddenly giving you a tight hug.
You were very surprised by his energy and enthusiasm. He acts almost childish. He energy and enthusiasm was contagious, too! You couldn't help but smile at the young man.
"Thanks MK! Y/n and I will collect the fruits here while you-" Monkey King snatched the list from you and handed it to MK, "get the other stuff!" Monkey King strategized.
MK looked at the list. "Uh... Which ones need to stay cold?" MK asked, scrutinizing the list. "Probably just the milk." You pointed to the item on the list.
"Okay." MK nodded. "Great! And when you get back, we can train!" Monkey King encouraged.
MK left to get the few not-fruit groceries. "I hope you memorized the list. Because I only remember two fruits." You told the monkey. "Bah. It'll be fine!" He shrugged it off. "Now, how about I give you a tour?"
