249. Now What

It was a very difficult task
It took years to prepare for
And days to complete
Standing on the mountain the adventurer had but one thing to say
Now what
The next adventure
Then what
Another
And another
And another
And another
Until the dull monotony of life finishes
Until death takes hold and life is no more
The fleeting joy of success
The constant need to climb mountains
Higher
Higher still
Taller ones
Each gaining size
Until what
You climb the tallest one
You see the Earth below
Now what
Do you kill yourself right there
Collapse dead after the final meaningful journey
Then what when you die
Forever in nothingness
In heaven
In hell
Then what
Can one ever truly be satisfied
Is the crevice deep through the heart
One you are able to ever fill
Once you see achievement
Now what
Is there next
Is there finally
Is there meaning
Is there point
And what if there is
Meaning and a point
Once you discover your purpose
Now what
Live and die
Existing in the in-betweens
Life in the endless cracks and crevices
Sand slipping through the fingers
Now what
What is one supposed to do
Should one be happy
Happy a state of emotion
One amongst many
An emotion people are trying to find the truth of
What if there is true happiness
What if there isn't
Once life's questions have or haven't been answered by the universe
Now what
